Good Morning!
Only a week from today and the days start growing longer again. Can you dig it?? I sure can! I'm not a fan of dark!
JANA - I saw the Vinae's photo of the snow and know you are close by. it's so pretty! Will you be watching the game today?
IRISH - yes, my purr-babies are getting along! I'm amazed at that. Foxy even has Riley PLAYING! Riley is almost 16 yrs old. She hasn't played since her kitten days! So did your friend get a kitty? Cats are like potato chips, you know. you can never have just one!
CA CAROL - did you mention homemade caramels?? YUMMMMmmmmm......
JO - Guess you'll be making a leftover casserole from the leftover leftovers! Sounds like I must have given you my recipe! lol!!
BECCA - Split pea is my favorite soup, but I do like to 'cut' it with a bit of potato and a few veggies. And homemade is the only way to go. Canned is barely edible - no offense to the good folks at Campbells. They try.
Autumn and Aaron are coming to visit today so we are going to grill chicken breasts and brats to use as add-ins to our pesto pasta. A big green salad, and I if I remember (that's always the key) I'll thaw some Rhode's rolls and we'll have them, too. Peanut butter fudge for dessert. I made that yesterday from the recipe floating around on Facebook. it was easy FAST, and good. I swirled in some chocolate chips while it was still hot for that 'tiger effect'. If you want the recipe and aren't on FB, here it is.
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk
3/4 c. peanut butter (I used extra chunky)
1 tsp vanilla
Bring sugar and milk to a boil and boil and stir 2-1/2 min. Remove from heat and add peanut butter and vanilla. Stir until smooth and pour into a buttered dish about 8" square. I added a couple handfuls of chocolate chips just for fun. Start to finish, this recipe took me about 8 min.
makes a great, easy gift for the neighbors!
