Happy SS Opening day if you are participating! I received a really nice gift from Lyn and posted photos in the Opening Day thread. It got a thorough 'cat scan' first, as all things coming into our house do.

CAROL - your poor DGD! Is she in pain? itch? Does she have to take all those meds just during flare-ups or forevermore? What a great thing to have you making meals for them! Such a help!!
I can't believe some of you have never tried making split pea soup - or even tasted it! It's been a staple in my life ever since forever began! I love it. I add diced celery, onions, carrots, and potatoes as well as whatever I have on hand. sometimes I use ham or keilbasa, sometimes no meat at all. DH said he didn't care for split pea soup when I met him, but he seems to like mine. And I can never cook for two either. Which is a good thing, because we thrive on our leftovers, as you all know!
Now on to supper! Last night we had an impromptu dinner out to the Cotton Patch Cafe with our neighbors. When I first saw the Cotton Patch tucked back into the corner of the nearby shopping center I got excited - I thought it was a quilt shop! lol! So our pasta plans are switched to tomorrow when Autumn and Aaron will be here.
Tonite is our big caroling/white elephant/finger food/bonfire party - about 20 people. I'm taking ham/dill/cream cheese/tortilla roll-ups and wassail in our crockpot (with a bottle of appropriate add-ins for those who enjoy that sort of thing. ;o}
What's cookin' in your pot tonite?
