SUPPER CLUB - Thanksgiving Day

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Nov 27, 2014 12:49 am

Today's the day, my friends! Our day to count our blessings. Too numerous to mention, but the biggie in my life today is that I'll get to spend it with Autumn, who I don't often get to see on holidays.

And as I went to pull out my ingredients this morning to make pies, I realized my little RV kitchen is just a fraction of my home kitchen. I don't have enough flour! Forgot to think about that. So I think we'll be having a crisp or cobbler instead.

I hope you all enjoy your day with the loved ones you can be with and warm thoughts of the ones who can't be with you.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I have relish plates, deviled eggs, cinnamon rolls and dinner rolls ready to take over to DS3's. He and his sweet wife are having this year's dinner at their house.

Also prepared is a basket to take to Mom's with the things I made. I will fill a couple of plates with the rest of the dinner, then Odie and I will go in and have dinner with Mom.

Mary--I make crisps and cobblers all the time... just don't think we need all the calories in the crusts. If you put oatmeal in the crisp, doesn't that make it HEALTHY???

Sharon--I love broccoli casserole!

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm thankful to have such great friends as you All!

Morning from partly sunny, sometimes dreary, SW. Pa...But, at least the snow is almost gone (in our area) and those traveling shouldn't have any trouble....

Mary, I usually get in the middle of mixing up something and then find I'm out of whatever....Thank goodness for neighbor, Donna....No matter what you make, it will be delish. I can almost smell it from here.....
I just took my bunt cake out of the oven and it came out of the pan in 1 piece...Usually some of it sticks and then I have to "glue" parts back together....One of the pies from yesterday is almost gone, I've hidden the one I made for Dan, DGS and the one for Kevin's is wrapped up...Just can't let goodies sit out for any length of time in this house...(And it's not the fur babies)....

We're headed for Kevin's in about an hour...They say, the "firsts" are hard and it will be sad but we do have so much to be thankful for and we will toast our empty chair..Kathy is going to her sister's today and hopefully, we'll get together tomorrow.....

You all have a great day....You know all the calories have been taken out of all Thanksgiving food...........

Good morning,

I will start dinner prep in a few minutes - green stuff - jello salad, spinach dip, getting the turkey ready, etc.

Aaron did two pies last night, took one with them and left the other for Michael. Kate made a microwave fudge, I told her that I will teach her to make good fudge from scratch. Lol

Dinner will be something light.

Enjoy,
Jana

Going to dinner elsewhere. I just needed to bake a pie and make a salad. I made the dough and rolled it last night, then this morning blind baked and finished. It is a beautiful pumpkin pie. I also made a boysenberry cobbler from the boysenberries I had placed in freezer in June. The pies turn out too juicy so I decided on a cobbler.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
Carol
