SUPPER CLUB - Thanksgiving Eve

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Nov 26, 2014 1:55 am

Well, how is everyone doing on your Thanksgiving meal plans? All I'm making is two raspberry pies, but I don't think I'll make them until tomorrow morning so they will be as fresh as possible. Autumn and Aaron are coming here for pie after our dinner at a restaurant and then I want to take the second pie camping with Cindy G this weekend.

Chickie, thanks for explaining Sriachi to me. I never heard of it until this past week. I'll have to look for it in the grocery store.

TINA - you have been so good and lost so much weight that you deserve a piece of pumpkin pie!

IRISH - no doc is worth a broken leg. But perhaps a badly stubbed toe . . ?

JANA - I see you and I are on the same diet! lol! Happy Thanksgiving Eve EVE to you and yours.

JOANNE - are you all ready for the Big Day at your house?

For tonite, we have a cooked chicken breast, a large baked potato, salad greens, and green bell peppers in the fridge. I'm sure I can devise something from all of that. Then we will be out of leftovers!

I hope you all enjoy the "prep"!

Afternoon from snowy, SW. Pa...It started snowing about 2 hours ago and everything is covered...If it weren't for the travelers, I wish it would really snow and maybe get it out of it's system..(and then be spring)......

Mary, raspberry pies????Now I'm not going to want my pumpkin ones....I agree about the broken leg but that's my sister...Although I did have a surgeon years ago who was pretty easy on the eyes and I do remember telling him, he didn't have to put me to sleep....(Drugs make you saw goofy things)...I can imagine some of the things that have been said in the OR, someone could write a book.....

Dinner tonight will be left over swiss steak, potatoes and gravy....I will be trying to bake pies this afternoon and I do want to make a cinnamon bunt cake....And if the roads are too bad tomorrow, we'll have lots of goodies to eat....Jim will be in "sugar heaven".....

Happy eating.............

Good afternoon,

DH took pity on me last night and took me out! Such a sweetie!

Tonight will be chicken something - I think I have invented a new dish! LOL

Talking about good looking Drs. - I had a OB that was a hunk! Typical description of a California Boy - 6' 6", blonde, blue eyed and tanned!

Irish - I would be good here if all the snow stayed up in the mountains - then I would have dry streets and no shoveling - the skiers would have all their wonderful Utah snow, and the water situation would be taken care of too. Seems like a good solution to me, but alas, I seem to have no say! LOL

Enjoy your dinners tomorrow - I can guess everyone's menu - but mine will be soup - our family dinner is Friday - then you know what I will have - the turkey and all the trimmings - can't wait!

Aaron and Kate are coming over tonight to bake pies to take to her family's dinner tomorrow - I am teaching her how to cook. Aaron already knows how to do the big dinner himself.

Enjoy!
Jana

Thank you Mary :-) we had enchilada casserole tonight. Tomorrow is the whole big Thanksgiving dinner, turkey, dressing, ham, scalloped potatoes, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans with bacon, deviled eggs, Waldorf salad, stuffed celery and pumpkin and pecan pies and bread pudding! I think that covers it ;-) I hope you all have a wonderful day! Kevin got permission and he's home! So happy!
Tina
