SUPPER CLUB - Mon, Nov 24th

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Nov 24, 2014 1:26 am

Good Morning!

Our BBQ yesterday was great fun! But so much food! There were 8 of us and a couple are big eaters - and I STILL had a ton of leftovers. I sent a lot home with Autumn but there went all my small containers, so now I have my little RV fridge full of big bowls with small amounts in them. We've got some eating to do today!

JO - your party yesterday sounds so fun! I don't think I've ever had 30 people in my house at one time. At outdoor BBQ's on rare occasions. You must have a big house!

IRISH - crackers work for me! To this day, Autumn's go-to meal is a pile off saltines with shredded cheddar on top nacho-style, and nuked.

CHICKIE - I bet that sweet potato was tasty! I never heard of Siracha mayo. Is that a brand or a type? Since being in this part of the country, I'm seeing fast food ads on TV for Siracha burgers. Are these related?

JANA - you are ruining mac and cheese for me!! Acchhhh!!

Well, as I said before, leftovers for supper. Seems that's my usual 'lead-in'. Potato salad, baked beans, and broccoli salad. By the looks of it, I won't be cooking for at least two days!

I'm kind of missing all the build-up for fixing a big TG dinner. But I'm also looking forward to a nice quiet restaurant meal with DD and SIL. And not having to do dishes! I think no dishes tips the scales for me!

Bon Appetit'!

Good morning, We got back late last night. Loved watching our sons and DH bag quail, pheasants, and chuckers(missed spelled). An upland bird, a little larger an a quail. All three are very good to eat. I'm glad to be home, but now there's a mountain of laundry to do. We leave tomorrow to visit folks for Thanksgiving and birth of sweet John Samuel on Wednesday. Please offer prayers for safe delivery.

Well I'm off to get second cup and to climb the mountain. Take care, and enjoy your day. I'm sending prayers to all in need, Abita

Good morning!

Jo—I remember seeing pictures of your lovely home when you had a big dinner. I loved the “only 30”—ha, ha! I think the most I’ve had here is 26 or 28. Yummy! Left overs!

Mary—Sriracha mayo is just mayo that I mixed with Sriracha. I like things spicy and can put that stuff in just about anything. I would like Sriracha burgers… Mummmmm!!! I like the idea of no dishes for Thanksgiving, too. Enjoy your left overs.

I think I told you that not having T-day dinner here is working out well. I’m going to be fixing plates and going in to town and having dinner with Mom.

I made stuffed pork chops last night for dinner. There is still half of one left for me tonight. I’ll fix DH a steak. There is plenty of stuffing to share. I’ll add some broccoli for “green” and probably a small salad.

Abita—I’ve heard of chuckers, but I don’t think they are around here. Two of the sons went pheasant hunting and bagged several birds. Quail were almost extinct here, but they are making a comeback. DH and #3 Son have been doing a quail habitat program with the State. We have a lot of wild turkeys. Best wishes for a safe arrival of little John Samuel! Congratulations to everyone!

Good morning from a very sunny and warm, Sw. Pa....Yep, can you believe it, we're headed for the low 70s today...Don't ask about the rest of the week.......

Jim is out, hopefully, raking the last of the leaves and cleaning gutters.....I keep reminding him, if we had that place in Florida, he wouldn't need either the rake or the snow shovel....

Not moving too fast, as usual...Of all things, I have shin splints in both legs????? I am not a runner, don't even walk fast so why???? All weekend, I've been keeping company with Ben Gay, not smelling too good, even the cats keep their distance.....

For our dinner, I might just cook....Jim hasn't complained but he really does deserve a decent meal...So, swiss steak, mashed potatoes, gravy and a veggie.....With that, no afters................

Happy eating..............

Mary, our house is not big...just lots of smallish rooms! We do have a large cabin addition and two kitchens, lol! If the whole family (kids and grands and great grands)come, there are 40 now. They just spread out throughout the house and yard.

Irish, maybe try Aspercream..doesn't smell!

Today is WINDY...up to 60mph gusts! And the temp is dropping from the 60's.

Tonight is leftovers again!

Joanne

I finally made it to the table :-) you all are making my tummy growl LOL I made a big pot of veggie beef soup, trying to eat as lite as possible so Thanksgiving dinner and leftovers damage will hopefully be minimal :-)
Well, I was going to tell you something else and can't remember what it was now. Hmmmmmmm. I'll be back if I remember :-)
