I'm 'talking' to you from my winter home in Georgetown, TX, just north of Austin! We made it!! Though I was worried for a while that Dallas was going to take us out. What a white knuckle drive that was - all construction, all narrow lanes, semi's, swerves, and all 60 mph!

JANA - sending a big YAY to you on your new cabinets! 25 yrs ago, when I was on my own, I redid my kitchen and designed my new cabinets. I have glass doors on my dish/glass cabinets and I love them! But the rest have wood doors. Outdated again by now though.

LYN - love your '2 yr old cabinet' reference! I have one of those!! I hate it! I keep a list taped inside the door what is back in that dark blind corner. I have to lay on my stomach on the floor and wiggle my upper body inside with a flashlight to get anything out. Needless to say, not much is in there! The turkey roaster and my set of wedding cake plans.

VELDA- chicken and noodles sounds good to me! Are there leftovers? perhaps you could add dumplings for tonite and I'll be right over!

CHICKIE - we really enjoyed your sauce last night! Mmmmmm.... Thanks you again!

JOANNE - when you lose your post, try hitting CTRL and Z. It will bring it back most of the time.

BECCA - how's things at your house? Did you get all your dolls finished?

Since we are settled into our campsite now for a few days (we will be moving to a better site when it becomes available after the weekend), I'm going to get out the crockpot and make a big pot of chili, 'cause baby, it's cold outside here! I precooked the meat and onions at home and froze it. So I just need to add in my beans and seasonings. I also premade cornbread mixes at home, too, and put them in Ziplocks. Now I just need to add the wet ingredients, mix, and bake.

What's keeping you all warm and toasty on these chilly days?

Naryz: You are just TOO organize. Making premixes, and precooking things. Wow, what a gal!!!

Yes, I have just enough leftovers for tonight. I have beading this afternoon, so I don't have to cook tonight, just reheat. Yummmm!

You know, I had tried something a while back when I lost my typing. Still don't know what I did to loose it, but I right click with my cursor on the page where I was typing. The pop up window gives me the choice of "undo". Once in a while, that does not work, but 99% of the time, I can click on the "undo" and wha la my typing is returned to me.

Try it next time, and see if it works for you.

Happy Friday!
Vel

Good morning Mary! So glad you enjoyed the pasta sauce! I also cook up ground beef with onions, peppers and celery and put it in baggies. Then it can be popped into soups, pasta or chili. Glad you made it to your destination, too—cold, construction, wind, semis… not for the faint of heart or squeamish driver.

Vel—the “undo” button is used frequently here!

We are going to keep working on the smorgasbord this evening. We cleared out some last evening, more tonight. One of these days, I’ll get to start over. Today for lunch we are meeting DH’s former co-workers for Mexican food. I’m having tamales for sure!

Enjoy!

The Venison Chili was very good and I think there's enough for tonight. I will bake some crescent rolls to go with.

MaryZ - We always go around Dallas if we are coming from Kansas. On the east side is Celeste, there's a wonderful quilt shop there. It's a small town and you can pull right in front of the shop with your rig. Or we go around the west side and stop in Stephenville to visit friends.

Will see Velda at beading today. Not sure what I will work on.
