I would go for a gift certificate to a quilt shop. You could wrap it in a fat quarter. Don't forget some catnip for Kitten.

get a 3 dollar project bag fill it with scraps, thread and a new pattern :)))

then you will be ready to sew when you open it on christmas day:)
