Good morning!

IRISH - I did notice you were absent from the table and was worried things weren't going well. Your poor boy is really going through some rough times with all this. God bless him, and all of you. Sending hugs and prayers.

VELDA - hope you enjoyed your 'mac & cheese'!

BECCA - Costco sells lentils that come in packets that are just enough for two. You heat them up and serve them however you want, but we like them over rice. Very good! Very quick! very easy! And I don't even care for lentils! But I like these. But I like black beans, too.

JANA - I havent' been following baseball much since the Mariners "dropped out", but for you, I'll root for the Giants! Go Giants!

CHICKIE - Bill eats Cheerios (the plain ones) every morning of his life, except for the occasional bowl of oatmeal. His cholesterol level is VERY low. It's all oats.

tonite - I'm in a cooking mood. I think pork chops, mashed potatoes, gravy, salad, and carrots sound good. I'm starting to get hungry!

come on by and we'll have a party!

Guess I should start eating more oats again. I used to have a cup of oatmeal every morning when I worked. I'd fix it after exercise class. Guess I'll make oatmeal for breakfast... I like the steel cut oats--seems like more because of the chewing, I guess.

My doctor's office called and wanted both of us to make appointments, so next week... UGH!!! It's going to be soooo bad!!!

I like lentils, too.

Tonight will be re-runs from last night's pseudo lasagna--farfalle in pasta sauce on bottom, seasoned browned beef with onions, garlic and peppers, then topped with mozzarella. It was real good, and DH liked that he could taste the beef--not lost in the pasta and sauce.

I also made an apple crisp, so there is that for afters.

Irish--hoping for good news about Chris...

Becca--you got more rain than we did!

Jana--it looks like it might be the Giants and the Royals! How are the cookies? I saw a Popeye's commercial, and they had something that looked so good. I can't remember now what it was, but I thought of you. We don't have any Popeye's close... maybe Joplin. If I'm bringing home chicken, it's from Chicken Annie's at Pittsburg--a local place.

Velda--I would enjoy your "mac 'n cheese" and some mac 'n cheese on the side!

Looks like I'm the only one hoping for a Cardinals win! lol!

Tonight might be smoked sausage, buttered noodles and a vegetable...last night was ham, potatoes, onions, carrots and green beans in the crockpot and it was yummy! So the leftovers from that will be tomorrow night!

I'm praying for your son, Irish...

I think I want to eat at Mary's house tonight....!

Joanne

Tonight is Chicken Noodle Casserole, except I now do not put in oven and bake it. I do it all on top of the stove in my "dutch oven" size pot. We like it better as it does not dry out. It stays creamy and cheezy. This is one of my DH's favorite meals.

Also fixed instant sugar-free choc. pudding for dessert.

Have a great evening.

Velda

Still have time for dinner - it's only 5:30 and the game is on in 30 more minutes. Ethan is here for dinner tonight too, Sarah is teaching a Merit Badge class forcsomecscouts tonight.

I am still thinking about dinner and chicken and noodles sound awfully good - will wing something like that here - but quick.

Sorry, Joanne, I was extremely happy when the Cards beat the other team from Ca., but now it's my team that will go to the series. I hope! LOL My son is a Cards fan, so we are razzing him. LL in good fun!

Enjoy,
Jana
