SUPPER CLUB - Tues, Sept 30th
Good morning from Sproutsville!
Only 12 more sprouts to go. That's just one meal. We can do this!! I could throw them out to the birds, but I just don't think the birds want them! lol!
TINA - so did you get any inspiration from us yesterday?
IRISH - any dates yet on when Chriss might be coming home? Is he still in dialysis 2x/wk?
JANA - I've cooked pork roasts in the crockpot and turkey breasts, but never a beef roast. Do you brown it first?
ABITA - Cheers!!
CHICKIE - When we come to visit, we'll be polite and let Doyal eat the squirrels. We'll stick with the veggies. Though that taco soup sounds kind of good!
BECCA - Isn't Asheville Andy Griffith's town?
JOANNE - what did you have at the Golden Corral?
We hit Costco yesterday afternoon and we ended up with meatloaf, baked potatoes, and those sprouts for supper. Tonite - leftovers. How's that for inspiration!
Bon appetit`!

MaryZ--ha, ha! DH prefers squirrel to sprouts. I am the opposite!!! No small, defenseless mammals for me. Give me veggies! I would help you with the sprouts. I would love a Trader Joe's in our area. The nearest one is Kansas City--just too far for grocery shopping. That's where Costco is as well.
The taco soup is delicious--probably because I made a bunch and don't have to cook when I come in after lumber jack duties. Actually I volunteer to help for the exercise--just wish it didn't morph into hours and hours and hours.
We will have soup or ribs tonight--probably the ribs. I need to make a veggie to go with them and a salad.
Cheers!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Tues, Sept 30th
Good morning,
Mary - when I do the pot roast, I just throw it in with all the seasonings. There is no reason that you could not brown it first, sometimes I am in a hurry. It comes out very tasty either way. The cemetery that was flooded here was at the end of the road that I had you turn at to get to my house. We were fine, just a ton of hail.
Chickie - I so love having both Trader Joes and Cosctco so close. Even if TJ's is 30 miles away. I loved having wood for fires, but like even more, the flip of a switch to have my fires now- no more going out in the dark or cold to get more wood. LOL
Dinner - if Michael stays out of the leftovers, that is what we will eat - if he eats them for lunch, I am at a loss - cereal comes to mind!
Enjoy,
Jana

Mary, I had to spend over an hour looking for something for Frankie so our supper was canned soup LOL he also got a grilled cheese with his. And just how many of those sprouts did you cook in the first place?! Must've been 50! LOL I bet it'll be a long time before you make them again hehe.
Tonight we're having the forbidden food and salad and maybe cooked carrots. I was out of the forbidden food but Schwan's just made a special delivery, they forgot me last time and I preordered on the 17th and told them if they didn't get my order to me by the end of this month I wouldn't be their customer anymore after 25 years!
Chickie, those ribs sound so yummy!
I throw beef roasts in the slow cooker all the time
I don't brown anything before I put it in, I figure that would defeat my purpose of not wanting a big mess to clean up
Tina

Mary...several of us last night had brussel sprouts!!! lol!! They were really good, too. I had some fried chicken, m. Potatoes, green beans, sprouts and a big salad...I was stuffed! Earl likes the bourbon chicken, so I know he got that...but the men sit at the other end of the table, so I'm not sure what all he ate.
Tonight will be chicken breast on the grill...I made up some BBQ sauce from a recipe, so that will go on, too. Not sure about the rest of the dinner, tho...maybe some fried rice from Market Day from the freezer.
Did you buy the brussel sprouts fresh???? I have some in the freezer, I might make them for dinner, too...
Joanne
