SUPPER CLUB - Sun, Sept 28th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Sep 28, 2014 3:37 am

Good morning,

I'm going to make this short and sweet. I know how we all love our sweets! I want to get in a little sewing before we meet my DB and SIL for our usual Sunday morning breakfast at the local tavern. Best breakfast in town. They bring you a dish if fresh fruit - and good fruit, not just wimpy melon, and then you get a half-waffle. all for free. THEN you order! We usually split an omelet after all that.

Later this afternoon we are picking up Warren and Lois (should be fun getting them into our Camry. I haven't done a wheelchair transfer in 20 yrs!) and we're taking them to the Eagles club and sharing a pitcher of beer with them and other friends. after returning them to their apartment in time for their supper, the other friends mentioned us going out to eat with them. So that's a possibility. If not, it's going to be poached eggs on toast for us here at home.

And I'll get busy trying to think up some wonderful dish to impress you all tomorrow. Let's see . . . . something with brussels sprouts . . . . . who knew those things would keep so well . . . .

Happy Sunday! I don't have to cook this evening--we have choice of soup that I made Friday jazzed up with taco spices or BBQ ribs that we brought home from a party last night. I though Zack was giving DH some left-over ribs from the party. I was surprised when we got home, and there were two complete racks of cherry wood smoked ribs! They are to die for! I will bake a couple of potatoes to go with them and add a salad. We are set! Zack is the young man who was the contractor for our house. He had a birthday party last night for his wife. DH had given him all the cherry wood from a wild cherry tree that had blown over in the pasture.

Enjoy your day! Sounds like everyone will be eating well. It's always good to get to be with friends and family.

Good afternoon y'all, I've got a large pot of great northern beans with ham cooking. I will pair them with rice and a corn bread for supper tonight. Family, friends, football, and food - we are truly blessed! Prayers to all from Abita Springs

Our Reds won today...last day of our season. Sorry Irish! But now I'm rooting for your Pirates..

I fixed scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy for "lunch" today...so we will go to Mama's for some grilled cheese...

Love those brussel sprouts, Mary!!

Good afternoon,

Well the pot roast morphed into pork chops. Still too frozen, so will cook it tomorrow.

OK, a little friendly rivalry here, I am sorry, but on Wednesday, my Giants will prevail against the Pirates. You see, history is behind me, we won the the World Series in 2010 and again on 2012. So since this is the next set of even years, 2014, history says we are to win again! Yes, you may LOL! Should be a very good game.

Enjoy,
Jana

Abita--when we watched NCIS-New Orleans, I saw a neon Abita beer sign and thought of you. Cheers!

I am fixing a few small ham steaks with some sort of vegi and potato.
Nothing fancy, just tasty.

Happy Sunday evening.
