SUPPER CLUB - Sat, Sept 13th
Good Morning,
It was one year ago today, on Friday, the 13th, that Lucky Scottie got us. We met up at the Safeway parking lot so DH likes to tell folks we got him at Safeway! lol! I'll give him an anniversary hug later. he's busy right now, growling at the ceiling fan.
IRISH - so sorry to hear that Chris is back in the Unit. Yesterday I said a special prayer for everyone on our forum who needed help. I hope it reached him. More coming his way today. Popcorn for supper? You and Jim are as bad as Bill and I!
JANA - love the idea of oven tacos. Do you use shells or tortillas? We like Mexican food.
BECCA - Glad to hear Mom is out of the hospital. We used to estimate if all went well, our babies would go home on/about their actual due date. In reality, most went home a bit sooner than that.
CAROL - sorry to hear you didn't get to learn the Tango! lol! What a story! In our case, the teacher's wife is there, so he'll have to be quick and slick to run off with one of his students! Our lesson went fine but it's so gosh darned far away - 1.5 hours in rush hour and an hour to get back home again. That's 2.5 hrs of driving for 1.5 hrs of lesson time. And let's not forget the $12 in gas to make the round trip. I'm not enthused.
Last night we had beef stroganoff for supper at our friends house. And we played 'Golf', a card game so named because it has 9 hands and lowest score wins. It's an easy game and can be taught in just a couple of minutes. I didn't win.
Tonite - I think we'll have the last of our au graatin potatoes, ham steak, peas, and salad.
Tell us what's happening in your kitchen?

Good morning!
Taco salad will probably make it on the dinner table today. It'll be a scorcher for a few days, 105 today 106 tomorrow and 108 on monday, ugh!!
It's too hot to cook. I also picked up a roasted chicken at Costco yesterday to make chicken sandwiches, salad etc.
That's what's happening in my kitchen.

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Sat, Sept 13th
Good early afternoon from chilly, dreary, SW. Pa.
Becca, this is not my cup of tea, lol....We even broke down and turned on the furnace last night and today when I changed the sheets, I snuck on a very, light flannel bottom sheet....I keep saying, if this keeps up, the electric blanket will be in use.....
Mary, I'm sure your special prayers are helping...Kathy called last night and said, the antibiotics are working..He did have his dialysis yesterday and she said, he's beginning to think the kidneys aren't going to come back...We talked about a transplant and he is on the list but takes years...And, he also said, he'd never allow anyone in the family to donate a kidney..Darn kid, if I were younger, he'd take one of mine and like it! And the strange thing, just a week or so ago, he had his pneumonia shot....And they are going to try to figure out why he can't seem to get food down....He was such a good baby, never gave us any problems and he's sure making up for it now, lol....
Becca, it is good news that Mom came home...Just so she doesn't wear her self out by running back and forth to the hospital...Hopefully, that little one will be home soon.....Not sure if I'm going to let Jim be in charge of dinner too often with his choice of foods, lol....
Lucie, With that heat, there is no way should you be cooking....We had a Costco chicken not too long ago and they are one of the best.....I'm not a member but tag along with a friend and love that store....
Oh well, I've stalled long enough...I am doing errands this afternoon and just might pick up something on my way home...I'm thinking Subway but it could be Pizza Hut...If not, there's always hot dogs (or popcorn)......
Happy eating..................

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Sat, Sept 13th
Good afternoon,
Mary, it was corn tortillas - just fill and bake - butt I didn't get to try them maybe later today.
You see prayers are answered - the dishwasher is broke! So since the new kitchen is starting, I got my new dishwasher - dish drawers - last night. It is a special order and will arrive here about the 22nd and be installed a day or so later. The dish drawers are made by Fisher-Paykel and there are 2 dish drawers, so I now have 2 dishwashers in the same space. So nice! In the mean time, I am doing dishes the old fashioned way! LOL
Dinner is chicken with corn on the cob. Paper plates may appear as well.
Enjoy,
Jana
