SUPPER CLUB - Sat, Sept 6th

Good morning!
Well, yesterday was productive. I estimated that I walked about 1 full mile up and down the hallway, carrying stuff. We moved everything back into my sewing room, emptied out the office and quilting room (except for machine and frame - it goes today), ripped rugs from office, and then washed/painted office. Whew! I pulled a slick trick to get out of finishing the painting though - I was scrunched down, tripped over a big glob of air, lost my balance, tumbled clear across the room over paint cans, the roller went flying, and I landed with my head bumping the opposite wall from where I'd been painting. Somehow I missed the paint tray of paint! But I did hit my hiney and now am sporting a very nice bruise that I really can't be showing anyone. It was really rather a spectacular physical feat and it got the dog and the DH excited. And DH told me to go take a shower (guess I landed on the roller.) and he finished up the room. ;o)
Today will be doing the quilting room, which is 10x13. We are painting the exact same colors as before. So only thin coats are needed and very little trim work. From now on, I'm never changing wall colors again! So much easier!
CHICKIE - I guess your LDH really didn't like to go to the dentist! I now only need "extra" medication for root canals - and luckily I've only had one of those. And through the magic of Halcyon I have no memory of it!
IRISH - Happy Birthday to your oldest 'kiddo'! so sorry Chris is having such a hard time with the dialysis. Though I sure don't blame him. You know, when anyone has a heart attack or big health issue like he has, temporary depression is a part of it that is often overlooked because of the physical immediacy. The depression can last up to a year. Maybe he could benefit from talking to a counselor who is trained in such things. If he could improve the emotional aspect of it, I'm sure the physcial part would be, at the very least, much more bearable for him, but at the most, improve things. . . Just a thought. Even just journaling his thoughts about it each day would truly help him, I think. It's a safe channel to vent, and that's what some therapists would advise anyway.
BECCA - you've got so much on your plate these days that I'm going to allow T--a sandwiches for you and for everyone!! Glad to hear your DH's appetite showed some improvement. Hope Baby Laurel's mom gets better quickly, too. Thanks for the 'report' on Laurel. The tubes would be oxygen, IV, and feeding, I'm guessing. After 20 years working in an NICU, sick and preemie babies still catch my heart.
TINA - glad Jaz is doing better about the dental appt. Since you are the one who was charged with taking her in the first place instead of her mom or dad, I'd say you're well within your rights to make her an appt now for a 6-month check-up. and mark your own calendar. I started all the kids at age 3 with check-ups every 6 months. My son never had a cavity until he was in his mid-30's. We always make our next appt before we even leave the dental office.
JO - you want I should send Bill, The Geek over to check out your computer? He just fixed, cleaned up, rebuilt 3 of my SisIL's computers for her. We miss you! You should send us a photo of you sitting at Mama's so when you can't make it here, we can picture you there!
LADY CAROL - lovely about the frogs! I fear they are disappearing. Sorry, though, about the frogING. When I was quilting my oldest brother's quilt some years ago, I got well under way and finally checked the underside of the frame. What a mess! I laid on my back for a half-day, picking.
ABITA - wonderful that you live where you do! so I'm guessing Abita isn't your real name, but I like it anyway! Wish we could get your beer here.
DH has requested spaghetti for tonite's repast. That's pretty easy as long as he's willing to take canned sauce - and he is. I have a kielbasa in the freezer to use for the meat. Today should be an easier day with very little carrying and carting. For me, just painting.
What's the plan for your supper tonite?
