The last day of August! Don't forget to enter the monthly drawing tomorrow for September!

IRISH - zucchini - the bane of gardeners' neighbors everywhere! lol!! Could you make veggie shish-ke-bobs with it, adding onions, cherry tomaotes, green peppers, pineapple chunks . . .

JOANNE - so happy to see you back with us!

Well, the vacuum seems to be working well - on the old carpet. They even added a new special plate to it (free) to better vacuum through our new, thicker pile rugs. Crossing fingers.

Since we will be busy again today with painting and rug ripping, a chicken dinner is going into the crockpot with potatoes, onions, carrots, celery, seasonings. Will be so easy come suppertime after a long day destroying our home.

What's on the menu at your house for tonite?

Good morning,

Mary - it always takes destroying to make it look so good! A lot of hard work, but, oh so nice after.

My painting starts on Monday. I hope to be done in a week. One side a day. With my bad knees and hip, we will see how long. The trim needs to be put on in several spots as well, but we will paint the body of the barn, add the trim and then paint it white.

Dinner here too is chicken and salad. I will bake it with my italian bread crumb mixture. Easy, so I can sew.

Enjoy,
Jana

Good morning! We'll be going to the street dance, so BBQ pulled pork, slaw, baked beans and a dessert. I'll try not to eat too much. Maybe I can take a cooler and a container for left overs and only eat half...

Irish--Izzy has a great zucchini/pineapple jam recipe. It is easy and good. Doesn't use too much zucchini, however. I grind mine and freeze it in 2 cup baggies and drop it in chili or soups. DH never knew he got extra veggies in his chili. He gets pumpkin in chili as well. He doesn't like tomato in it. The pumpkin is undetectable--just makes it thicker.

Joanne--I knew I missed something I was going to say... It is good to see you here again! I always miss your smiling face and happy thoughts.

Becca beans and rice is so one of my favorite meals. I like mine loaded with Cajun seasoning.

Good late afternoon from semi warm, rainy, dreary, Sw. Pa...It's only in the 70s today and we've had buckets of rain....Much too much wet stuff!

Mary, One thing I know Jim would no go for would be the "bobs"...So, I will just do my magic and disguise it in whatever I'm cooking...Do you have before and will you have after pictures of your project? I love, love to see and hear about remodels.....

Joanne, sure have missed you, so glad to see you back with us....And, both, Jim and I love zucchini bread, just not all the time, lol...But, with the amount of bags in the freezer, already, that might be our main staple during the winter....Who would have thought, 3 little plants could produce so many green things?????

Jana, between you and Mary and your painting, you have me looking at paint chips....I have decided, I'm going to start in the kitchen and just keep going...And Jim just mentioned, he's going to give our barn/shed a new coat and then paint a big shamrock above the doors...See what you gals have started???

Becca, I had threatened to send Chriss a few of these green things, maybe I could put a couple in the mail for you, lol.....

Carol, Boy, it sounds like you really had a good day...These people that don't understand about fabric are "friends"???Maybe you'd better give them a good talking too, teach them about the finer things in life.....
All these chicken dinners sound so good......

I have a feeling our dinner won't be as tempting....Since we were late having our breakfast, we had ordered lunch and ended up bringing 1/2 of it home....SO, lunch for dinner....Either that or after the game, on the way to see Chris, the car could make a stop at any of the numerous places along the way...(And I'll bet I have coupons for just about all of them)...I've been getting a hankering for sticky buns so I think the baker might be back in the kitchen by tomorrow.....

Happy eating...............

Carol, that roast chicken and stuffing....sounds sooooo yummy!!! (Did I mention that these steriods make me HUNGRY???!! lol!)

Thank you for the welcome backs! I sure did miss everyone!

We had the teriaki chicken last night, with potatoes and veggies in foil..all on the grill...and a big salad.

We had lunch after church...when there is a fifth Sunday in the month, the church has lunch after services..everyone brings dishes and it was awesome. Needless to say, we ate our fill so dinner tonight will be a couple of metts or brats on the grill and some potato salad that we brought from church (and two desserts, too)...Anna, a friend that I go to Maysville with, brought a grape salad with grapes the size of brussel sprouts! I had sour cream, cream cheese, brown sugar and a little vanilla...it was great!

Well, back to watch the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the heck out of our Reds!
