good morning!

I never made it yesterday. and no tractoring either. We had a LONG session with carpet/flooring rep yesterday and learned some interesting things - for one, we can't afford the flooring they were hawking, and two, the rep's aunt, an avid quilter, lives in Chino Valley, AZ and quilts with a good friend of ours who also lives there! Small world.

After that appt we ate lunch and headed into Tacoma to fetch "Stitch" from the spa and drop off "Bridig". Got him home, all set up, sewed 10 min and it was time to fix dinner. Fix as in nuke the last of the pork gravy and rice.

BECCA - today's the day!!!! We're all excited here! Hug him for us!

IRISH - your relish sounds (and smells!) delish!! But putting liver under it killed it for me! My biggest fear in life when I was 7 yrs old was that I'd grow up and marry someone who would make me cook/eat liver!! It's the worst of the worst of the worst! Double Ick!! I thought there was no need to ban it from our Supper thread, but clearly I was wrong!! BTW, three husbands later and not a liver-lover among them! I chose well.

CHICKIE - not you, too!! We've descended into utter chaos here!!! (though I loved your green tomato relish!)

JANA - your soup sounded good to me. Hardly any liver in it at all I bet!!

Tonite we are having spaghetti with marinara and sausage. I'm out of all fresh produce so we'll be having frozen mixed veggies until I can go shopping tomorrow. Not too inspiring but my easy-going DH will think he's dining high on the hog.

What's inspiring you tontie?

MaryZ--I converted one DH to liver and onions... it was "NOT his mama's way of cooking" it. Mine is tender and flavorful. He was surprised to try it--that it even looked appetizing (like steak fingers). I still did not get my DD to convert to it. She got the Bacon that I cooked first. I got started craving it in junior high--you know"right about when". A friend and I would go to the store and get a can of spinach and a pound of liver and take it to her house, and I cooked it and we ate the whole thing. Apparently I was anemic starting "when". They say your body craves what it needs.

You may not want me at your table tonight, either. I'm wanting "mac 'n cheese" and think I will take the crab cakes recipe from the Susan Branch blog and turn them into salmon cakes. I want to make her homemade tartar sauce as well. I'm out of lettuce, but there are still lots of tomatoes. I harvested a BUNCH yesterday. I'm having difficulty keeping up with them. Usually I can't find enough to eat.

I made a batch of jalapeno jelly yesterday. I love that stuff! I ran out of cider vinegar, so another batch will get made next week probably. My peppers were red, so this batch is a delightful shade of vermilion rather than the usual green.

When you come visit again, I will remember to leave your "favorite" foods off the menu! You should be happy with lots of biscuits, right!

Come for brunch here Sunday for DH's birthday brunch bash. We will have a crowd again. Anna Mae's brother and family (across the road), her sister and DH from Hutchinson (yes, where Scrappy Pat lived), his sister from Wichita, and his brother and wife from Ft. Scott as well as all the family will be here.

Have you and Bill thought of do-it-yourself flooring? DH helped our contractor with this engineered wood we have. He and I have put in lots of the laminate flooring. I ran the saw, and he did the "floor work" wearing his knee pads. I think when they did this floor, Zack did the floor work and nailing it down, and DH ran the saw. The laminate clicks into place and "floats"--no nailing or gluing. The engineered flooring (all hardwood but like plywood--no warping) that we got used nails. You might try a room and see how it went...

Hope your machine is up and humming and back good as new--finally!

Enjoy your dinner!

Good Afternoon.Hot here but nice.

Bong Bong we are waiting for Levi to get home.At least he is in Seattle WA. now laying over for 3 hrs.

Oh the liver subject again.I used to love it & DH & all our kids did too.But we have not eat it in years & years. If it is fixed right it is good, but not healthy for you.Of course if you are anemic it is.

IRISH Your relush sounds great.I use green peppers in mine instead of tomatos.DH cannot stand to smell it.

MARYz I hope all the machines get worked out.Wood flooring is the best but expensive. We would have it everywhere if it wasn't so hi.We love it in bedrooms.

CA wanted hulley beans & pork chop. After our feast yesterday I will have salad with t--a.

My oldest DB turns 81 today .I just called him & he was eating peach ice cream. He is in excellent health. And very active. All my dBs are too.

Have a good one & eat well..Becca
