SUPPER CLUB - Mon, Aug 18th
Another new week! They are sure rolling by fast!
Our fridge is filling up with leftovers again. Yesterday I did some baking - apple cake and 4 loaves of zucchini bread. In the process I dropped a 24-count egg carton on the floor after I'd used about 8 of them. Scottie was there immediately to help with the one egg that splattered out of the carton. Six were cracked but didn't spill out of the shell. I salvaged them and used them for chili relleno torte last night with refried beans and sliced tomatoes. Tonite I think we'll go back to the pork, noodles/gravy plan. Tomorrow more torte. Oh! and let's not forget the leftover kielbasa! That will probably go into a pasta dish or sauerkraut. So if I go into an eating stupor and don't make it on here for a few days, you'll at least know what's been on my menu! lol!
I finished my embroidered the last Hocus Pocus blocks. Now to just wait for my Bernie to return home tomorrow (it BETTER be tomorrow!) to finish putting that top together. I need the decorative stitching capabilities in that machine. In the meantime, I'll baby my Janome along to piece the backing for that quilt. When the Bernie comes home, the Janome goes back into the shop. And in my spare time, I'll be helping DH lay the wire for our invisible fencing to corral The Scottish Beast. I'm told my job will be to drive the tractor that will be pulling the thing with the "tooth" that will gouge out the little trench we lay the wire in. I love driving the tractor - especially when I have to be looking forward to where I'm going and backward to where I've been and watching to the side for DH's signals. Arthritic neck flare-up, here I come! lol!!

Good morning from semi sunny but warm, SW. Pa....Not sure if we're getting rain or sun, one of those days.......
Mary, in reading your post, you sound very organized with your meals, even if it is leftovers.....What I need is someone to tell me what to cook...I have a freezer full but no ideas.....
I now have visions of you bouncing along on that tractor, not a care in the world(ignoring those signals) and Bill and the Scottish Beast running behind, trying to catch up.....
And now I'm off to meet 3 other gal friends for lunch...So, that means, Jim will suffer (that will be the day)....Not sure what might be on the stove later but probably won't be much...Jim hasn't had hot dogs and baked beans for quite a while so he might be in for a treat.....Or, if I bring home leftover lunch, I might share.....Jim smuggled some cookies (lots) in our shopping cart yesterday so no baking for a couple of days...............
Happy eating................

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Mon, Aug 18th
Good late afternoon.
It has been busy around here - DH is sick - tummy issues and not a good patient either! Uglies and some sewing has gotten done as well as removing slivers from Ethan's big toe - he promises to wear his shoes outside now. Not one cry or peep that I hurt him either when I removed the two large slivers. Such a sweetie!
Irish - A belated birthday! I knew I picked a good day to be married! Love your Eagle and pizza - my high school mascot was a Eagle, so I am partial to them too.
Becca - tomorrow can't get here soon enough! Enjoy your time with the family!
Mary - hope that the fence works for Scottie - Sarah just brought me a dozen fresh eggs from my "grandchickens" - we have 11 hens, so we have quite a few eggs - gladly share with you! The hens are keeping me, Sarah and my niece Sandee in eggs.
Dinner - I will see what I have in the freezer for my dinner - Michael is eating chicken noodle soup, without the noodles - seems to be helping.
Enjoy!
Jana
