SUPPER CLUB - Thurs, Aug 14th
A cool, cloudy morning, and I'm loving it! But sunny skies and 80's are returning soon.
CAROL - what a story! your poor DS and BIL! and those poor kids. I so feel for them all. Will say a prayer for the whole situation!
BECCA - I've really been enjoying out bit of rainy weather lately. Don't rush the sun back just yet!!
We finished the log cabin yesterday! Yay!! And we slept under it last night. Scottie loves it! it shows off his black hairs so beautifully. and some of those hairs are 6" long!
and of course, binding this quilt was a test for the Janome, newly back from the 'spa'. They did't get the internal contacts for the foot pedal in securely and it keeps stopping and I have to wait for it to re-engage. Sigh. Back to the shop we go.
I forgot to make supper last night. I noticed I was getting hungry about 5:30 and realized there was no dinner! Argghhh!! So I poached a couple eggs and DH made toast. Slice tomatoes and watermelon finished off our impromptu meal. So I'm getting with the program early today and will get that ham/potato/cheese thing going in the crockpot.
What's are you cooking up for supper tonite?

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Thurs, Aug 14th
Good late morning from semi sunny, still alittle chilly, SW. Pa...I thought for the month of August, I wouldn't have to be wearing flannel PJs but darn, I'm ready to turn on the furnace or dig out my electric blanket.....When it gets down to low 50s at night, that's cold!
I think I've missed 2 days at the table but guess who didn't go hungry...Not sure what I did on Tuesday (must have been so exciting) but yesterday, my sister had an appointment with her wrist specialist and of course another friend and I had to go with her...And would you believe, it took all day...I think we might have been in the doctor's office about 45 minutes and then we went to our favorite Chinese buffet and sat for quite awhile....My sister has a way of almost getting us in trouble...2 officers were also having lunch and when they got up to leave, as they passed, they said have a good day...My sister then said to them, "don't do anything I wouldn't do" and the 1 looked at her and said, "should we talk about this?"
But back to dinner, last night I didn't need to eat but Jim had soup and a sandwich....
Mary, So happy to hear Scottie loves "his" new quilt...My heavens, his hair is longer than mine...You will be posting a picture, won't you? I think the last couple of things I've made, I've picked out colors that kind of blend in with the fur babies.....
Carol, my oh my, that really is a mess....Feel so bad for the kids, who always seem to be caught in the middle.....
Well, Jim just left to help with bingo and I'm on my own....I have a list a mile long and probably not enough time or energy to get it done....
As far as dinner, haven't a clue...I'm lucky to have a hubby that never complains about meals but I do feel guilty about not fixing a big meal...But, I'm thinking, today, I'll just have to feel guilty and we might have breakfast.....
Happy eating.................

Good late morning!
The fence guys won't be here until 3 p.m.1 uggh - not my day - my little girl just left - we only have the bottom border and the 2 sides and it is ready to tie - she did a great job on the quilt - lots of blocks with points and she didn't eat any of them! Wish I could have done that good on the first quilt I ever made!
Dinner - well the other night I tossed country pork spareribs in the crockpot with onion soup mix, cream of chicken soup and ranch dressing - similar to the pot roast recipe - yummy - I am going to try this with chicken thighs as well - seems to be a universal recipe - works with everything! LOL
Tonight - who knows - I may just head over to Popeyes to get chicken - Popeyes is building a takeout right here in Herriman - so I won't have to drive so far! LOL My little town is growing!
Enjoy!

Good Evening All.....very wet and soggy here......
there is the biggest.....blackest.....cloud coming our way from Wales.....just checked out the window......its there alright......may have to have an early night with a book......and coffee.....
Havent heard anymore about Cindys in-laws.....but I do know the BIL had had a couple of heart attacks in the past......and the SIL has been treated for Depression.....still cannot understand how the DD was able to get into the retirement savings....a pin or a password is needed.....I can tell you NOBODY knows my pin numbers.....and no amount of Chocolate bribing would get me to tell.....
but in situations like this its always the kids that suffer.....
Today being Thursday is our Egg and Chip day.....but today is the exception......yesterday I started a Beef Casserole in the Slow Cooker to wind up in the freezer.....but it smelt so good.....it ended up on todays menu......with Herbie Dumplings.....Fruit Cocktail and Cream for afters........
