Good cool morning! I'm savoring it because the next several days will be flirting with 90 - hot for here.
CHICKIE - My DGS, Alec, also loves Cupcake Wars. Actually, he loves any kind of extreme cooking show.
Our foil packet suppers turned out tasty last night. I could have eaten two! Tonite, I think I'll borrow JANA's recipe for kielbasa, tortellini, and broccoli. Except that the tortellini will be bow-tie pasta. I'm not sure when DH will be home from a routine dr appt in Seattle so that will be a quick-to-fix meal.
What's the outlook in your kitchen for tonite?

Good morning!
I'll be bringing home chicken from Pittsburg this evening--gizzards for DH and maybe livers for me. I have green beans, corn on the cob and tomatoes to add to the dinner.
I like all the "Chopped" and challenge-type cooking shows, too. Give Alec a high five for me when you see him next. Your dinner sounds delicious.

Good early afternoon from warm, sunny, SW. Pa....Another purrrfect day here in SW. Pa....
Mary, now you have me thinking about those packets....I had mentioned we were having them the other night and then didn't...So, that might be on the menu for later....
Jim has to have a pelvic scan this afternoon and then after that we need to get cat food (again)....We have been feeding a feral for some time and now the little stinker is a regular visitor...I think I'm making headway but probably will never get him really tamed...But, I just feel so bad for him and want to be friends....But, he's here 3 times a day and he is eating us out of house and home...Our 2 inside girls eat little bites at a time but not him....
Our company is here and right now, Nicky is mowing the grass...Jim is having a hard time watching...Just not used to having someone else do "his" job.....
Well, best get moving and hit the shower and be on our way.....If we don't do the grilling, we still have left over spaghetti and I have all the fixins for hot ham/cheese sandwiches (made with Isaly's chipped ham).......And also Texas sheet cake for afters........
Happy eating.................

I'm back...just not been near the computer for days..it is summer...
Tonight was smoked sausage (which I think is interchangeable with kielbasa), Velveeta mac & cheese (Earl's favorite!), peas and carrots and biscuits with homemade blueberry jelly...yummmmmm!
Earls daughter picked blueberries on Saturday and shared with us...I froze all mine (8 pints) and she did some blueberry jelly...and gave us a jar...blueberry is my favorite fruit of all!!!
Carol, for some reason I can't remember what "bubble and squeek" is????? Poor Sir!!!
Oh geeze Miriam...gizzards and liver...how yucky! lol! Good to see you here!
Irish, that Texas sheet cake sounds really goood!!
Becca, is it deer season in NC?? Could be where the mother of the fawn is...
Good to "see" everyone!
Joanne
