Good Morning!

CHICKIE -we don't care if you're late to the table - we just love that you stopped by. we used to raise sweet corn and sold it by the dozen, fresh-picked. When I was little, I lost 6 of my front teeth all at the same time. But I could still gnaw at least 6 ears of corn every evening for supper! Clever you for solving Carol's ridde!

CAROL - thanks for the riddle - that was fun!

IRISH - I hope your Jim either feels better quickly or agrees to see his doctor. You've had enough medical drama in your family!

BECCA - I see why your hubby is C.A.! In my family, they are all Frederic Eugenes. We have Frederick, Fred, Gene, Rick, and another Gene. In high school, my dad's friends called him F.E. or "Effie". Another odd thing in my family, both my parents and grandparents were Fred & Marie. After Gramma Marie died in 1941, they wouldn't let my mom vote because they said she'd died. Mom argued that she was indeed much alive and sat there all day long in protest. They finally let her vote at the end of the day so everyone could go home.

Well, we never did eat those brats. I finally put them in the freezer. Last night was so hot, we had a chef's salad for supper and piled on kidney beans and cheese along with veggies. It was 92* here, uncommon for us. And it happened to be the day I had to make jam - 34 jars of raspberry. I had a HOT kitchen! Today, 10* cooler.

Tonight's supper will be more salad and maybe a chicken breast on the grill. DH will tell me later if that "suits". If it doesn't they HE can come up with an idea. lol!

Good morning! I think we will have the same menu tonight--it was such a hit last night. I had a few brats left, so will cook corn and slice tomatoes. I'll add watermelon--summer fare!

I never let a thing like missing teeth stop me from sucking the kernels off the ears, either! Hope you get a menu, or better yet... reservations!

Kamri and Addi were going up to the highway to sell corn yesterday evening. I know they probably sold it all. Kamri is such a cutie, and Addi is getting really pretty.

Good morning,

Oh, fresh corn - my favorite. DH's parents grew it on the ranch here, we would get the pot of water boiling, before we went out to pick the corn for dinner, shuck it and in the pot - off the stock and in the pot in less than five minutes - oh so good. Kepp trying to get Sarah to grow me some, but I am told we don't have enough land - uggh!

Dinner tonight, no idea. Something light and simple. We are almost 100 today.

Mary, loved the chef's hat cake. He must have been so tickled to get it.

Enjoy,
Jana

Good late morning from warm, sunny, SW. Pa...Our temps will be close to 90 and of course the humidity will be kind of high...I love the summery weather but with high humidity, it's hard for me to breathe....

Mary, hope the weather co operates for your next camping venture...And, Jim has agreed to see the doctor...Boy, you're right about the medical drama...Guess who is back in the hospital....Kathy called yesterday morning and said she had called for an ambulance. Chris was having a hard time breathing...They were putting tiny tubes in his lungs to relieve the fluid and the doc said this is common after what he's been through...Never a dull moment....

Speaking of corn, we have yet to have "good" corn...Around here, our local farmers haven't started selling... And I agree, there's nothing better than corn cooked right off the stalk...Making my mouth water as I type....
And for our dinner, it will be something easy...Might be pancakes or waffles or maybe just poached eggs....My brain doesn't want to think about dinner before I have my lunch, lol......

Happy eating.................
