SUPPER CLUB - Tues, June 10

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Jun 10, 2014 2:46 am

Good Morning!

CAROL - you've worked up quite a scenario for poor IRISH and me. I think you're exaggerating, though. Your grass can't be THAT long! lol!

IRISH - we'll need a new plan!

About cats: My sister had a rather handsome all black sweetie named Sinbad. She was getting new carpet and thought Sinbad would look so fine on a cranberry carpet. And he did! But she soon learned that with all the vacuuming she had to do she didn't have much time to admire him! Eventually Sinbad went to kitty heaven and she got a whole new crop of cats (be wary if you decide to volunteer to foster kittens. There is a job hazard here . . ) All her new cats (4 of then) are beige. She finally gave up and got a beige carpet and though her kitties are camouflaged by the rug, she's not running the vac every few hours!

Now wasn't that a fascinating story?

Oh supper!! I almost forgot! Ham and eggs! Toast and fried potatoes. My favorite supper!

Rain, rain rain this morning...and later this afternoon...nice day to nap! But I'm doing laundry instead.

Last night Earl ordered way too much for him to eat..and brought home a half rack of BBQ ribs...which will either go on the grill tonight or in the oven if it's raining..I saw two large baking potatoes in the frig..so they will go into the oven, too. No salad...none of the stuff to make one looks very good..produce has looked yucky lately. But I have plenty of green stuff in cans!

Now I need a nap! lol!

Good morning from partly sunny, sometimes looking like rain but it had better not, SW. Pa....

Joanne, please keep the rain on your side of the border, I'm also doing laundry and want to hang the sheets outside....

Mary, that was a great story...AND I know all about the hazards of volunteering with the cat shelter...How do you think we ended up with 4 inside cats at one time????3 of them were very feral and we trapped them and then they came to live in my laundry room..We had the mother but she was really too wild so after spaying, we took her back to her colony...But, her 3 babies and I lived downstairs, me sometimes inside the cage with them..(big cage)...I read to them, I did my cross stitching with them and after a while, we moved upstairs to the spare room (my cat room)...After they were tamed, we started to show them and after a couple of times, I decided there was no way I could give them up, so this was their forever home...I really did have to quit volunteering, I was too much of a softy and I would have brought them all home, much to Jim's dismay....Most of the time, Jim keeps a leash on me when we go to Petsmart and won't let me get to close to the cats they have there...
And Mary, we will have to come up with a better plan...But, I really do have a good set of grass clippers.....Where there's a will, there's a way!

And our dinner will be kind of a repeat from last night...No meat loaf, instead I made swiss steak, mashed spuds, gravy and mixed veggies...Not sure what got into me, but made sure I made enough for tonight, and maybe lunch tomorrow, lol.....

Happy eating............

Good Evening All.....another day with occasional very heavy downpours.....and another Thunderstorm.....cannot remember the last time we had so many thunderstorm in such a short space of time......

MARYz and IRISH......our grass really is high....so I think a machete really would be useful......our Council....in their wisdom.....has deemed it that grass only needs to be cut twice a year.....and you know how rain helps nature with growth......we are now surrounded with natures helper......but along with the Chocolate Lock and Key.....I will call upon my Welsh Dragons to stand on guard duty.....

My Aber day today......after I mentioned about the wheel falling off my trolly.....or it could have been....ONE WHEEL ON MY WAGON.....realised I hadn't been to the indoor market since I fell over outside a few months ago......so as I don't want that to become a blind spot....I made a point of going in there today.....then wished I hadn't bothered.....it was absolutely heaving and couldn't get to a single stall.....so that was a waste of a good intention.....

our menu today.....Shepherds Pie....Carrots and Cauliflower.....Jammy Doughnuts for afters......(there is a shop in Aber that does some lovely doughnuts)

Carol.....
