SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, May 29th

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu May 29, 2014 3:01 am

happy Friday Eve! We're closing in on the weekend! glad you all liked my parents' story. They were married 54 years until my mom passed away in 1989.

LYN - I loved your folks story, too. 74 years! When is their 75th? What a celebration that will be!

IRISH - glad you, the eagles, and your flowers all survived your weather! We're actually going to have a card party here next Wed. I'll try to win a hand for you! How is Chris doing?

JOANNE - well, I'd thought you were tall, too! Of cousre, in my family 5'3" IS tall! lol! and I know how tall LYN is because I've gotten to meet her - twice!!

Last night's chicken alfredo lasagna was really good. DH went back for seconds. I guess it's a keeper of a recipe. And only 6 ingredients, layered:
cooked lasagna noodles
cooked shredded chicken
Alfredo sauce
oregano
garlic
mozzarella cheese (or your cheese of choice)

We have half of that leftover, so supper is already planned for tonite. We had steamed broccoli/cauliflower/carrots lat night but I don't think I'll get DH to eat those veggies two nights in a row, so it will probably be our old standby salad tonight.

What's the plan at your house?

Good morning,

Feeding the grands tonight. So it will be spaghetti with shells, garlic bread and green beans. All things I know they eat. I have some cookies and ice cream for afters.

Mary, love family stories like your parents. Such great memories to pass on.

Need to get going,
Enjoy,
Jana

Good morning from a very dreary, not real warm, SW. Pa...To most people it's warm, to me it's sweat shirt weather...Now if the sun decides to shine, then we're in business!

Mary, your dish sounds really good and I'm tempted to try it on Jim...Jim has never been a fan of lasagna noodles and I'm not sure why....Chris is doing OK, eating pretty good and "draining"...He has so much fluid build up, it might take days...Kathy said, she doesn't want him to come home until he's empty! But, he's going to make it...

And as far as our dinner. I'm thinking and nothing is coming to mind...Is that what you call an "air head"? The freezer is almost full but just doesn't suit...I have to run some errands later so I might just have to pick up something...But whatever, we won't starve....Remember when Jim said he'd take care of dinner and asked if I wanted a hot dog or pop corn? This might be a night for pop corn.....

Happy eating.................

It rained all around us...but not here! UGH! Our few tomato plants and herbs and lettice need rain...

Tonight we went to Mama's Grill for sandwiches and Earl had a salad. We had pork tenderloin sandwiches for lunch from Medary's Market and were not too hungry.

June in Ole Williamsburg starts tomorrow at 6pm with the parade and runs through Sunday. So we will be eating from the booths for the next couple of days! lol!

I love lasagna...any kind, but not Earl.

Irish...who is Chris and what is "draining"????

Joanne
