SUPPER CLUB - Fri, May 23

Happy Friday, Supper Clubbers!
JO - I was happy about Max & Merle (especially happy for Max!) but have never watched an episode of Survivor. But I've heard many people are unhappy with the Tony win.
IRISH - when we're camping, we often make a foil packet meal of cut up chicken or a hamburger pattie, top with potatoes, carrots, onions, olive oil, seasonings, and plop them over the campfire while we enjoy a refreshing adult beverage (or perhaps two ;} ) while it cooks. Love camping cooking!
CAROL - I finished my Solstice quilt and put photos in the Photo section. and you're right - it DOES take a scant quarter seam. The pieces are so small that unless there were a whole bunch of things to frog, I just cut more. I can't imagine making the large version of this quilt! It would never fit on my 11' quilting frame even if I didn't go insane piecing it! When I have a project going, I pretty much do just that and nothing else until it's finished. Today I'll be doing a mountain of laundry and a long list of uglies as well as grocery shopping. And let's not forget the mess in the sewing room. . .
And I never heard of quilt sticks so I Googled them. They are 23-3/4" long flat sticks and range in widths from 1-1/2" to 5". They are made from pressed wood, textured on the back so to grip fabric, but smooth on top so as not to snag fabric. There are no measurements on them. They are just designed for cutting strips and are $8.99 each. (the smallest one is $7.99). And they don't ship by air. Yet. I think I'll stick with my 6x24" ruler. But these do have a certain appeal.
Now on to supper. We're going to friends for a small dinner party and all I'm making is an appetizer to take. I decided on smokey chipotle salsa over cream cheese with crackers. Easy peasy. I make this occasionally but usually use hot pepper jelly. The salsa will be a switch.
Be safe as our holiday weekend begins. And never forget what and who we are honoring on Memorial Day. The sacrifices of our REAL national heroes!
