SUPPER CLUB - Monday, April 14th

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Apr 14, 2014 4:50 am

Hi, all!

IRISH - could you just cut the doors off at the bottom? If they're hollow, you can't, but if they're solid wood - wouldn't that work? I know DH did it to one of our doors some years back.

Yesterday we got a late invitation to go to DD#1's for supper. It was awesome! DGS, the culinary student, cooked. He made pulled BBQ'd pork sandwiches, homemade potato chips, veggie and fruit platters, and lava cake. Normally, I'm not a big fan of chocolate cake, but this was to die for! He is really turning into a wonderful cook! And after supper they gave me a late birthday gift - Quiltopoly! I love games and I love quilting. It was a winner!

So today, if the day stays nice, we'll BBQ burgers and I'll make some jo-jo's in the oven. If not, we'll go with yesterday's spaghetti plans.

How's it looking in your kitchen for tonite?

Good morning from warm, semi sunny, SW. Pa....I hate to say this but there is snow in the forecast for tomorrow, can you believe that????But, in Pa. you can expect darn near anything......

Mary, sounds like you really had a great day...Isn't it good to have a "chef" in the family? The doors that we had picked are steel doors but the fellow did tell me, if I picked a cheaper storm door, there is a chance they could cut it down...
The inside door is either steel or fiberglass and not sure about that....I'm ready to say, the heck with it all and move to Florida....

AND you're also not going to believe who was just at my door.....Mr. Schwan! He wasn't the regular guy but a very nice young fellow...Jim was working in the yard and saw him go by, ran out and flagged him down, lol.....Does that mean Jim is getting tired of my cooking???? Well, we now have little pizzas, lots of veggies and chicken kiev....On short notice, I couldn't think.....So now I have a brand new catalog and I'll be ready the next time.....(And with the nice weather, you know they'll soon be wearing shorts)......

But, with all this new food, we're going to have the burgers on the grill and potato salad....I didn't spend half the morning cutting onions, celery and potatoes for nothing.....And we have ice cream for afters.........

Happy eating..............

Good morning!

Mary - you do get a lot accomplished in one day! Whew! What a treat to have a chef!

Irish - I would ask Michael, when we first got married, could he stand my cooking for the first 1000 years, OK, the next 1000 years too? So far, so good! Jim was just thinking of making something easier for you! Such a good guy!

Dinner - I don't know quite yet - have many choices in the freezer and may even be making a run up to Trader Joe's - so it will be impromptu around here.

Enjoy!

IRISH - you'd take any excuse to move to FL - even a too long a door! lol! Glad you're back in the "Schwann of things". Your Jim knows you well!

JANA - so what do you have planned for supper the next 1,000 years?

I'm just back from my walk and polished off a scrambled egg sandwich and forgot to "pay the sheltie." Now I have a dog rolling on the floor crying and moaning. Such drama!!
