SUPPER CLUB - Tues, April Fool's Day!

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Apr 01, 2014 3:44 am

I'm trying to think of a good joke to play on DH, but I guess my heart isn't in fooling him. If I were talking to him, I'd wink and say, "not enough challenge". But actually, I'm just too lazy to concentrate long enough to come up with a good idea!

IRISH - hope you get your third baby today

I had a pork chop supper all planned and then remembered that we're going to friends' for supper. There were going to be 6 of us and we were going to play Mexican Dominoes. Then our hosts have another friend who's wife died suddenly last week of a heart attack, so they've invited him to join us, which is nice. And yesterday the other couple got word that his 92 yr old mother in PA is dying and they are leaving this morning to rush back east. So the party may not be quite as festive as originally planned. But the menu, I think, will be something Italian.

What's the news from YOUR kitchen?

Hubby and I are doing easy dinner tonight. We are having spaghetti. Tomorrow I will probably cook a real dinner since I am off work.

Good late afternoon from warm, sunny, purrrrrfect, SW. Pa....It's finally in the mid to high 70s and gorgeous....

Mary, I completely forgot all about April's Fool Day..Jim could have been pulling jokes on me all day and I wouldn't have know, lol....It seems there is a lot of sadness connected with your dinner/get together, but I'm sure you'll enjoy getting together....

We just got home from a spending trip to Home Depot...Jim asked if I wanted to go "look" and that's all it took....We ordered a couple of new doors...Next I'm having them come and measure for windows and that's just a start..I love HD almost as much as JoAnn's....

And then we stopped at Applebee's for lunch....Jim had a rum flavored steak and I had those tiny "mac n cheese" thingies...And we have enough left overs for dinner.....I love these kind of days, expensive but oh so much fun......

Becca, the eagles that I am watching are in a nest near Pittsburgh...They have set up a camera and we're able to watch it on our computers....It runs 24/7 and is unbelievable...They also have a chat going and it's really interesting to see how many people are watching and commenting....Just a little while ago, there were over 9000 people watching and getting very close to being a million, over all.....I did find out, in all of Pa., there are quite a few nests...And I also found out, it is against the law to be within 300 yards of these nests and also against the law to even have a feather...I'm becoming a real eagle-nut.....

Happy eating..............

Irish - Your eagles were on the National News on NBC tonight. They are ever so cute!

Maryz - Hope your dinner was festive although it must have had somber moments.

Suzette - I love spaghetti. When I was a young girl my Dad convinced me I had a hollow leg because I could eat so much spaghetti (an absolute favorite).

Becca - A nature walk is wonderful anytime!

Tonight's dinner was chicken parmesan, fried potatoes, salad and green peas. DH had Greek Yogurt for dessert and I had canned peaches.
Have a good night everyone!
Carol
