Good early afternoon from snowy, wintery, SW. Pa...Yep, we got another blast from good old Mother Nature...After awhile, the "prettiness" wears thin!

Not too much happening in our neck of the woods, heck, we're snowed in...And it's usually on these days, I want to go to lunch or somewhere....But, instead, I think I'll spend some time in the kitchen....Jim kind of informed me, he's finishing the last of the banana/nut bread, hint, hint....So, I found some shredded zucchini in the freezer and will bake a few loaves of bread with lots of raisins....And to keep things simple, really simple, Jim would like to have hot dogs and sauerkraut for dinner....Sounds like a plan to me!

So what big plans do you all have, besides staying warm?????

Hi there Dorothy and all who follow!

It is beautiful here, even with snow on the ground - I tell myself that the Spring Equinox is only a short time - March 22 - that is when spring arrives officially! No matter what that silly groundhog says - he can't read a calendar!

Dinner - well it is Monday, and I need to make a run to the grocery store to get supplies - I can go for easy today - looks like a soup dinner for us - DH has been making hints too - my Chicken Tortilla Soup - that will be good as it is easy and will last a day or two for leftovers as well. I am still trying to learn to cook for 2, not the crowd that I am accustomed too.

Today is sunny and clear. It is in the low 60s. Last night we had about a quarter inch of rain!! Yeah!!

Last night I made Pork Chops and Rice with Mandarin Oranges. There are enough leftovers for tonight as well. Lucky me!

Irish - There was a great program last evening on making sauerkraut. It was a California Gold with Huell Howser. It is a family run business in the San Luis Obisbo area. It is very interesting how sauerkraut is made.

Jana - My DH's birthday is March 22. Only about 6 weeks away. Just wish we would get lots of rain before then.

Good Evening All.....back again for goodness knows how long......posts keep disappearing.....screen freezes.....had power cuts.....not a happy bunny....however I digress........

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK;-(not sure if I have already done this one)

A MANS HOME IS HIS CASTLE.....UNTIL THE QUEEN ARRIVES.......

We had a lovely few days with our friends for our POSH ISH weekend.....I gave our friend his quilt on the saturday evening...."YOU"V GOT MAIL".....he absolutely loved it.....and our friends think I"m the bestest since sliced bread......did I tell you no-one else sews.....so NO quilt police about......I have to say though....it does make you feel good when something you have nutured and sweated over.....gets that kind of reception......
Sir found a quilt shop whilst he was looking for a camera shop....had to go and have a look see.....wow.....they had some beautiful flannel in kids designs.....so now I have got to start to save up my running away money all over again......the weather was pretty rough....we were at a Coastal Resort in the south west(just below Wales) the wind coming off the English Channel.....lets just say it was a good job there were lamp posts to hang onto otherwise there would have been lots of Mary Poppins floating around......
now to food.....as Sir wants to sort out his photos........
Roast Chicken... Stuffing....Carrots and Sprouts.....Black Forrest Gaterex for afters.........
will try and catch up with everyone tomorrow.......Carol

Good Afternoon all.We had rain last nit but today turned out sunny & 62.Wow I loved it.Even went outside on porch to sit in sun & bake my sinuses.

IRISH Do hope the weather gets better soon for you.BUT remember you are going South soon.

It was errand & shots day so I cruised into Subway.Was good for a change.We have not been able to get out due to ice & snow....Becca
