SUPPER CLUB - Sun, Jan 12th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Jan 12, 2014 3:46 am

Good morning!

We are broke down in Barstow, CA. Had a rather impressive towing experience last night. A giant tow truck pulling our one-ton Dodge pulling our 28' fifth-wheel with an 8' extenstion tote on the end holding our ATV. All lights on and flashing. For 30 miles. You could have seen us from space. I referred to us a Twenty Mule Team outfit and then realized we were in the actual twenty mule team country! We are now safely set up in an RV park, our trailer getting parked (in the dark) by the park owners who used their own pick-up. Our truck is sitting at the Dodge dealer garage 5 miles away, waiting for Monday morning. DH thinks it's the clutch and thinks it will take at least two days to fix it - IF they have the parts on hand. My DB and SIL are 200 miles away and they will join us here today.

So good news abounds! We only blocked traffic for 1/2 hour, no one was hurt, we have power for sewing machines, Scottie's dinner was only 90 min. late, and the Seahawks WON!! Life is very good right now.

To celebrate all these good things, I think I'll make a baked ziti for supper and a salad. I certainly have the time to cook!

What's tempting you tonite?

No excitement here.LOl DH is still not feeling good.He wants soup & sandwich.I will have steamed broccoli, baked potato with toppings.

Good Evening All....that bl...y rain has found us again........

well....Maryz when you have fun....you have fun in a big way.....but what a time to have clutch trouble......I"m like Becca...TOO OLD for that excitement.....but all is well....if the sewing machine works....have to agree with Becca.....campers are the Knights of the road.....so as long as theres plenty of grub and the wine flows freely.....have one on me.....and quite sure your Scotty didnt mind his dinner was late.....all that excitement doesn't happen very often.....but seriously Mary glad to know you and Mr. Mary are ok.

We went to Bristol today to vist our Cindy and her crew...took them out for lunch.....we do this after Christmas when there is a bit of a flat spot....too much going on before.....
SO... that means my kitchen had the closed sign up today.....rather a pleasant feeling.....
Will probably have Carrot Cake and Coffee later....
and Mary......hope you have an uneventful night......

Greetings from warmer but dreary, SW. Pa....We are only in the low 40s and thank goodness we didn't get the snow during the night that had been predicted.....I always laugh, being a weatherperson is the only job you can be constantly wrong and still keep the job.....

Mary, you know how to make an old heart skip a beat, don't you??? I was so worried when I started reading your post but I should realize, this is Mary, she knows how to have fun! Just so glad you all are OK....I was happy about the Seahawks, also.....

Jana, the 49ers seem to be doing OK for themselves...They started out slow but much better now....

Since we're home, I thought I'd tackle the stove again and made a pot of chicken ala king....Easy peasy and all Jim needs is toast and he's good to go.....Still not baking...I'm out of raisins (which is a sin in this house) and everything I want to bake needs raisins....For sure, tomorrow, we'll visit Aldi's......

Happy eating..............
We're having another lazy day here in the big city...Long story, but we haven't left the house, watched Mass on TV...I think we should get 1/2 a credit for that....
