Supper Club, Friday, Jan. 10th..........

Post by Irishgram » Fri Jan 10, 2014 5:42 am

Good morning from still chilly but getting warmer, SW. Pa....Yep, we're having a heat wave and all the snow will be gone and it's going to be Spring, right????

I guess today, We have to be good in the kitchen department since our "chief cat" has good ears...Just can't have any fun!....But, I was thinking of new food today but instead will use up some leftover cooked chicken and make a pot pie...One of these days I'll surprise Jim with new stuff, as if he cares...Just so there's something on the table that's edible, he doesn't care......Not sure if I'm baking or not....

Carol, how to describe Graham crackers, hmmm.....Well, there are much like cookies, made with honey and are tan in color...They are used a lot to make a sweet pie crust...You crush them and mix with butter and bake and have a very good pie crust....Also, if you've heard of S'mores, they're made with these crackers.....I can't think right now, but I'm sure you have something over there that would be pretty much the same.....They are yummy.....

So, what's or who's cooking in your kitchen????

Happy eating..............

Good morning!

Graham crackers are a delicous cross between a cracker -crunchy and a cookie. They are very thin and crisp. They are made with graham flour, flour, a little cinnamon and molasses. Around here, if I have any frosting leftover from a cake, it goes between two graham crackers - like a homemade Oreo cookie. Yummy!

Dinner - I am behaving tonight. Stuffed baked potatoes with what ever is in the refrig.

Enjoy,
Jana

Well, I've missed out on having some 'mac n' cheese' while Mary is on the road. Although we are planning a 'f..h fry' for Sunday with a group of friends. The weather should finally be warm enough.

Maryz - hope you are not having to white knuckle today in your travels. Velda and I were talking about the possibility of meeting up with you, Cindy and whoever else we can get together. I'm looking at the map for a good location in the triangle our locations make.

Dinner will be leftover pork roast or roast beef.

Irish, I wish Earl would eat pot pie...I like them.

Things are warming up!! 45 deg. today...nice.

I fixed a pork chop and potato casserole tonight. Layered fried pork chops, boullion cubes in water, parm. cheese, sliced potatoes, onions, and more cheese..cover a bake until potatoes are done. Yummy!!! And brussel sprouts...Earl said he was craving them.

Gold Rush is on tonight...love that show!
Maryz...travel safe!!!

Tonight it will be real macaroni and cheese with a side of broccoli. Need to get started. Today I cleaned off my desk and did laundry with getting my nails done in between. I also made a run to the office supply store for a couple of notebooks to hold all the papers and some sheet protectors. I had hoped to get more done, but the desk took a long time.
