SUPPER CLUB - Tues, Jan 7

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Jan 07, 2014 3:40 am

Good Morning!

IRISH - How did Jim do? He and his cousin need to find better ways to have fun together. Seems a little one-sided in the 'fun department', to me.

CAROL - love your term, "freezer dig". We've been having that all week long!

I know most of the nation is frozen but we're anywhere from 30-44 here and the rain moved in last night. Nasty, but livable. I think I'll make a turkey casserole of some kind. It will use up the last of our turkey and the last of everything else I have. Tomorrow morning we hit the road south. I hope the south warms up for us! Cindy G is at 20 degrees in Houston! That ain't right!

Toomrrow night we'll probably have leftover leftovers in the parking lot of the Seven Feathers Indian Casino in Oregon, 99 miles north of the CA border. That's our usual first stop - if we go I-5. DH may reroute us through Nevada, depending on last minute weather reports.

IRISH - did you really cook??? I hope it wasn't Tupperware!

Mary, thanks for the suggestion for the pork roast. I didn't have any cranberry sauce so I just stuck it in the oven with salt and pepper for about three hours...it was really good! It seems to taste better in the oven than it does in the crockpot...and we had some sweet potatoes and succotash..it was yummy.

We woke up to -7 deg. this morning...brrrr. But we should be at least above 0 deg. today...supposed to be in the mid 50's by the weekend...that's just too weird.

Tonight will either be leftover pork roast or some pork chops. I considered making chili...but probably not.

Everyone stay warm! Irish...hope Jim's surgery turned out ok...prayers for you all.

Good morning!

Mary - the weather just might be better in California than Nevada, at least the east side of Nevada is getting part of our cold, but no snow is in the forecast for the week. St George is only up to 50 for the high, ice skating weather, not tanning. Lol

Joanne -good to see you again!

Dinner - a nice soup - my easy go to - tortilla soup. Might even be a after. DH has lost some of weight and is about 10 from where he wants to be -cause for a celebration! LOL

Enjoy,
Jana

Good Morning Ladies.Woke up to below 0 this morning.Has warmed some as sun is out.

CAROL I love ham too but do not eat very often due to salt content.

JANA We too are supposed by end of week.Crazy !!

JOANNE Good to see you are doing better.

MARYz Have fun on your trip.Enjoy the warm temps if you find them,

After yesterday of being out in bitter cold all day it is so nice to be home.We were in Dentists office 3 1/2 hrs.He had 2 teeth extracted. And they would not stop bleeding last nite due to his blood thinner.Putting on tea bags in the nite.

So for lunch I made creamed potatos ,jello,& baked sweet potato for him.Made myself a pot of soup.Veggie with ham in it.Tasty & good on cold day.Stay warm.......Becca

Good afternoon from snowy, balmy +6, SW Pa....I figure it can't stay like this for long, has to get better, doesn't it?????

I do want to thank you all for the prayers and good wishes for Jim....It was a very long day for him and as Mary said, a lot of "1 sided fun"....They started with him shortly after 9:00 and he finally got home about 4:30...The MOHs surgery is where they cut, send it to the lab and if clear, they stitch but with Jim they had to cut 3 times and he said, he stopped counting at 32 stitches...Just a fun filled day....But we are certainly grateful for all the new treatments and of course for his cousin..

Joanne, so glad to see you...Hope your RA isn't giving you fits during this cold spell..You're right, the weather is weird.....

Becca, Hoping your DH is feeling better after his ordeal...I think I'd rather have a baby than have a tooth pulled..I'm really a chicken when it comes to dental visits..They know I don't have anything done, even cleaning, without the numbing stuff....

Mary, my cooking, minus the Tupperware, seemed to work last night so I just might give it another shot tonight.....I'm actually going to stuff a chicken along with mashed potatoes, gravy, mixed veggies and, Carol will like this, rice pudding.....If my kitchen survives all this, I might think about using it more often.....

Happy eating..............

Good Evening All.....nothing new to report on the weather front over here...still on the wet and wild side.....and the sea has certainly done its share of destruction on some of our coastal towns......and
now,we here and see the awful weather some of you are experiencing.....on our news last night a reporter threw a mug of boiling water in the air and it fell as ice as it left the mug.....wow....that was scary.......

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK:-

YOU NEVER KNOW HOW MANY FRIENDS YOU HAVE.....UNTIL YOU BUY A HOLIDAY HOME........

Sir is much better now.....almost over his Man-Flu (heavy head cold)....luckily for me....the Essential Oils and the Cinnamon has kicked in and looked after me(fingers crossed)

Maryz....hope your travels take you and yours to warmer climes
Irish....have missed Jims op.but hope all is for with him now
and Sir would have enjoyed your Rice Pudd......
as I had F..h and Chips in Abergavenny today.....Sir had Hash Browns....Eggs...and Bacon.....and for afters....Mince Pies
