Well, the gobbling is over and the spending begins! Who's going shopping today! not me!! I've done Black Friday once in my life. I'm not a crowd person. and I personally believe there are even better sales to come. But I do understand the fun and energy of the day so wish all you shoppers a rollicking good time!
Dinner yesterday was cooked by my grandson and was a amazing. Plus, he got culinary school credit for the hours he put in cooking it. Though why he cooked a 25# turkey and a ham with all the trimmings for both, is a little mystifying considering we were only 6 people, and his mother is a vegetarian and so had her own little tofurkey thing. They did send us home with a lot of leftovers! so we win!!
So now you know what DH and I will be having for our supper tonite! NOT tofurkey! lol!
Today we are off to fetch the perfect Christmas tree. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. We'll be at 3 to 4,000 feet elevation and from looking at those mountains from a distance yesterday, there seemed to be a lot of snow up there! But we'll see. there's always tree farms for back-up. Just not quite as much fun. and a forest tree costs only a $5 permit. (we won't talk about the fuel costs to get to the mountains.)
What's on your plate today?

It's the adventure of getting the tree. Don't think of fuel. If I did that with the boats and what we catch, we are eating very high priced "mac n' cheese"!!! LOL
I had made egg pie yesterday morning (queish or however you spell it) DH doesn't call it by it's french name. A few yrs back the french dumped on us, government wise, and 'french' fries became a bad word in our house, too. Anyway, have leftovers for breakfast.
Dinner will be repeat of yesterday, too.
Off to sew.

Good afternoon from sunny but cold (32), SW. Pa....I guess we shouldn't complain, it is winter.....
No Mary, I'm not one of those shoppers...Like you said, been there, done that and had enough....We did have to get in the car and meet up with one of the girls this morning....She is a teacher outside the Philadelphia area and her school is having a book drive...AND the winning room gets hot chocolate and cookies..She is very competitive and her class just won a "Bagel breakfast" and now she's determined to win the next goodies...When she was here, we loaded up on our old books, Kevin also gave her a box of books and this morning I checked with the Library and they also gave us a box of books....She is so happy.....She teaches the challenged and loves every minute....
As far as dinner, I'll bet I can find some turkey etc. in the frig and I'm sure Jim won't mind....He loves this time of year and he still has a full pumpkin pie to tackle....Life is good at our house.....
Happy eating.................

Good morning!
Dinner was just lovely yesterday! I did the turkey while the kids moved Matt - they got it all done - then they all showed up at my house to finish up dinner. We played games here too - Killer Bunnies - many can play and it is a hoot! You have a starter deck and can add many expansion packs - Sarah has them all!
So we have a few leftovers - that 22 lb turkey gave it all - lol and is now in the stock pot making broth for noodles later. Usually I would do them for Sunday dinner, but Matt and family are tied up with his in-laws - so I will freeze the broth and wait for another week, so that all can be here. Noodles here are as a big deal as is Thanksgiving dinner - I think that my family just tolerates Thanksgiving dinner so that I will be making noodles afterwards.
Dinner tonight - leftovers - I love turkey sandwiches with a little mayo - turkey, cranberry sauce and stuffing all piled inside the bread.
Enjoy
Jana
