SUPPER CLUB - Monday, VETERAN's DAY

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Nov 11, 2013 2:17 am

I didn't forget today! I'm here!!

IRISH - so sorry about all the black ribbons in your house. Maybe the Steelers will play the Seahawks, and then you can wear green and blue! That will be nice.

Our salisbury steak morphed into meatloaf last night. It's hard to make a meatloaf for two people and not have leftovers for 3 nights running, so tonite, I think hot meatloaf sandwiches, mashed potatoes, and salad. Last night we had cauliflower with butter and a sprinkling of nutmeg. DH was NOT impressed. As a consequence, I guess he's going to get it again tonite! Too many leftovers!

Hope your supper is impressive - whatever it may be,

Good early afternoon from sunny but chilly, SW. Pa.....

Mary, I'm sure Seahawks are on the schedule, just don't know when. I had always been an admirer of their coach, Tony Dungy but I think he's retired now...He's a super guy!...But, we did have a good "football" day yesterday, Steelers finally won, lol....

After cooking 3 lbs. of macaroni and chopping all the stuff to go in the salad plus baking a "new to me" cake, I'm not cooking another thing today...The cake I made is called "Better than Brad Pitt" but since I don't care for him I changed the name to George Clooney....Tonight's our card party and I won't be here so that means Jim will be on his own, again....I might be able to spare him a little macaroni salad, lol......

Happy eating.................

Good Evening All.....from a rather nippy Hereford........

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK:-

I DONT KNOW IF TIME IS PASSING ME BY..........OR RUNNING ME OVER......

I know I have been missing for a few days.....but....I did rather a silly thing.......I pinned TWO quilt tops last week....and for a few days could hardly move.....so...time to do the "hot and cold" on the stairs......15 mins with the hot wheatbag and 15 mins with a bag of frozen peas.(kept just for this treatment)....sit on a stair and the riser of the next keep the bags in place......well... I wont make that mistake again....felt just like a little old lady.......
going to find me some bricks to make my table higher...just for the pinning.....

Forgot to mention...the week-end of our Bonfire and Firework meet....there were several one man dome tents in our Rally field which was very unusual....well apparently...there was some filming going on and these tents were where the "extras" were sleeping.....the film is called the FURY and due out next year.....the star.....who wasn't sleeping in one of the tents....was Brad Pitt......

OH YES.....my Aromatherapy Course has been cancelled for the 5th time......just said I"ll have my deposit back....thank you.....my word you would have been so proud of the way I held my words in check....well...I was proud of me anyway......

Going to have to read back on what has been going on at the table......well....must try and keep up with all the gossip you know.....LOL

IRISH.....you reminded me about the "Brad Pitt" filming.....just shows what an impression he made on me.......forgotten all about it and him.....

Todays menu.....Pork Loin (diced) in White Wine and Cream Sauce.....with carrots mushrooms and sweetcorn.....(in the slowcooker).....and Apple Studel and Cream for afters

Good afternoon -

Happy Veterans Day and a huge THANK YOU to all that have, are or will serve! I have lots of Vets in the family here.

Lots of black arm bands around here - all the teams lost yesterday and Saturday - BYU, Utah and the 49ner's - only one I follow one - Stanford - they won and moved up in the BCS rankings - now 4th in the Nation.

Dinner - there are odds and ends around here for meals - chicken - soup - meatloaf - all that could get cooked - we will see -- just don't know what I am in the mood for -

Enjoy
Jana
