SUPPER CLUB - Halloween!!

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Oct 31, 2013 4:18 am

BOO!! Did I scare ya?

This morning I have an appt with a Seattle dermatologist. Between all the travel time and new patient stuff, we'll be gone from 9:15 until about 2pm. But if he can help my hand, the drive will be worth it.

JANA - thanks for the recipe. You really have it filed away! I'll go check it out and give it to my neighbor. TEN crockpots?? Oh my! When I got married, everything was electric frying pans. I got 3 identical ones. But just 3.

IRISH - since you and Jim forgot your own anniversary, I hope it's OK that I didn't get my congrats to you earlier! But 59 is a real accomplishment! You must have married in Kindergarten!

BECCA - I had to close my eyes, reading your post! You know, you can make chowder without any seafood at all - corn chowder, potato chowder, etc. There are all kinds of good chowders out there!

Well, I think our pork chop supper just isn't meant to be! We shopped yesterday so had fresh chicken, so we did have the same supper but changed the star of the menu. Tonite will be leftover chicken in some form - soup? casserole? just reheated? But I will have it made before we head for Seattle this morning so tonite I can just pop it into the oven - or else it will be in the crockpot, simmering away!

So, are you doing anything scary tonite? Here, just eating dinner can be scary!

Happy Halloween from warm, dreary, SW. Pa....I did hear the rain and winds will be moving this way, probably in time for our "trick or treaters"......

Mary, I had a hard time finding you and that was a scare......I sure hope this doc is deserving of all that travel time and takes care of things....We're very, very lucky to have one in the family...They always tease Jim for having the thickest file.....

Well, this is bingo day and for me another lunch day....I'm going to a Halloween luncheon with 2 gals that will be leaving for Florida, until spring....We are to wear something orange and black...I'm really not in the mood but the food sounded good....

So, I guess that means, I won't be hungry for dinner and that means, Jim might go without, lol.....That would be the day! If nothing else, we'll do breakfast....
Now I'm off to hide the candy so we have enough left for the 3 or 4 kids that might come tonight.....

Happy eating................

Good Morning all.Cloudy & rain moving in tonite.Trickers will get rained on.

MARYz I called it chowder making it easy on you. There is nothing in it besides s----n butter pepper salt & milk.He loves it so I make it every few years.Hope the appt goes well.

We do not get any or few trickers. Most around here go to Church Trunk or treat.

It was errands day.And Subway was open as well as the bakery.Apple fritters & chocolate chip cookies so we are set......Becca

Good morning!

Our neighborhood is having a potluck dinner up the street from us - so if we go - who knows what will be there! There is a good chance that we will be here for dinner - Michael is going over to see his father in the afternoon and I never know what time he will be back. This is a get together for the neighbors before they take out all the kids to collect goodies. Sarah and her family are going.

So I will just scrounge the kitchen for something to fix - I have salad goodies leftover from last night's dinner - so we will see.

Since there are over 200 kids in the Ward - I have plenty of candy, just in case they all show up!

Enjoy
Jana

Booooooooo!!

We're warm but a "storm" is coming...high winds and rain..or so they say! We usually have between 250 and 400 trick or treaters..so if the weather is really bad, we will have tons of candy left over.

I always fix a huge pot of chili, and hot dogs for cheese coneys for those who don't go for the chili. Not sure about who all will eat, but I will freeze the leftovers for later.

Good Evening All......it is so wet here.....you just wouldn't believe it....and we are off for the week end for our Bonfire and Firework meet......Korma is done and in freezer......Bakewell Tarts are done and in freezer..... but forgot to do the Cranberry Muffins....so tough...will have to buy some biscuits instead.....(Bakewell Tarts and Muffins....well biscuits now) are for our coffee morning on Sunday before we leave for home.....

Yesterday had to go into town for my new glasses......told the girl I was only buying my specs.....NOT the company.....blimey but the prices have gone through the roof.......oh....and you will never guess........my Aromatherapy course was cancelled again on Monday.....except no-one told me....I was the only turner upper.......going to have to sort that tutor out.......

Yesterday we hade a lovely Beef Stew with fluffy Dumplings.....I had brought some frozen potato whirls that I don't usually get....so used them to thicken the stew....it did the trick....so that mistake turned out to be a useful one....so going to get them again.....leftovers frozen ready for sometime next week......see.....you girls are teaching me something about leftovers......the stew was Crockpot cooked by the way.....

However todays menu....the inevitable Thursday on Thursday....Egg and Chips and Baked beans.....and the inevitable Rice Pudding for afters.......I wont be able the post now until Monday......cant exactly haul my computer around with me to a Farmers field.... probably sitting in the rain.....

take care Carol
