SUPPER CLUB - Sat, Sept 14th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Sep 14, 2013 4:26 am

I don't have a clue what to have for supper tonite! I can only hope an idea comes to me by the end of this post!

IRISH - my heart is with you today. I so can feel your loss. I hope you can feel my hug!

JO - do those Christmas panels each make one table-runner each or will they all go together?

QUEEN JUDI - Bill's the same way. He THINKS he can cook, but he really can't. and he grouches at me if I try to offer any direction. He told me in his prior life - which I refer to as BM (Before Mary) - that he did all the cooking while his ex sat and read the newspaper aloud to him. The way he cooks, they must have been skin and bones back then!!! I can tell you, cooking was the first chore I took back when I had MY hystie!

JANA - Is your FIL's wife coming along or will she stay with her family? Is FIL happy about the move? It sounds like a good decision for him.

BECCA - sorry your 'me day' fizzled. But hope springs eternal! maybe today will be 'your' day!

What a busy time we've had the last 19 hours!! Our toes are pretty well gnawed by now. I think we need more toys! And Riley, while obviously disgusted with us all, is not nearly as bad as we thought she'd be! Puppy did pretty good through the night. His Pop laid with him in his playpen until he fell asleep - put him in his bed, and then crawled into our bed and didn't move until morning! I woke up a few times and puppy was awake but quiet. I took him out, he did his thing, and he went right back to sleep. I did not, however, and ended up on the couch so my tossing and turning wouldn't wake The Boys.

We're still working on a name. Bill gets the final honors. Yesterday it was Patch(es) (yay, JANA!), last night he settled on "Frisco", and this morning it's "Scottie". Stay tuned . . .

Well, all that chatter was just stalling, you know. Dinner? hmmmmmm. . . . How about pork chops and scalloped potatoes? And a salad and maybe even a veggie! I have a recipe where I brown the chops and then lay them on top of the potatoes. pour Cr. Mushroom soup (mixed with a little milk and some seasonings) over all and bake until it's all done.

Hope you figure out your menu more quickly than I did!

Good morning from sunny, but cool, but nice, SW. Pa....
Thank you all for your kind words and hugs...I know it was for the best but it is so hard....And I know "Baby Girl and Kelly" know something has happened...They are both being very quiet and looking....

Mary, I did think of you all night but it sounds like your "baby" did very well.....But, as much as I adore puppies, I'll stick with cats/kittens and litter boxes..But, I am not getting any more, that's it! Now tell me that when I go to Petsmart the next time and "drool" on their adoption window....
And the way you do those pork chops really sound good....I have a couple in the freezer and will have to try it, next week.....Yummmy

Becca, sorry to hear DH has the punies....Soup is a good fixer upper....Take care that you don't catch it.....

Our today's dinner was decided last night when Jim announced, "Tomorrow is pizza day"! So, the pizza has been ordered, a couple pieces were eaten for lunch and the rest will be for dinner....No cooking for me, again........

Happy eating.........

Good morning!

Dorothy - my heart goes out to you as well - it is hard, but is the right decision.

Last night we went to the State Fair - had dinner there - Michael ate Navajo Tacos and I had a Philly cheesesteak - the little boys ate pizza - all had a great time.

Looks at the quilts - slightly disappointing - my kids keep telling me that I am better than those that won awards - I am skeptical - but may enter in a year or so.

Today is the day - the new LA is being purchased!!!!! We found it on sale last night at the Fair - from the shop I have been working with - so it is off there as soon as Michael gets back from the sprinkle store - he never made it yesterday.

FIL is very happy to be coming - the room is all ready for the move - they were finishing the paint and adding new carpet. No the wife is not coming - her family took control of her and put her in another assisted home in Concord - and hasn't allowed FIL any contact with her at all. He tries to call her, but doesn't have the new phone number they got the wife. That is the tip of the can worms that family has created - we need her signature on papers for FIL to get assistance money - the family refuses to let her sign anything - so we had to hire a attorney to try to get things done. The wife has money and with California being a community property state - she is responsible for part of FIL costs - we don't want any of that money - but the state will take it - so we can a huge can of worms!

OK - dinner tonight - I have some chicken and will eat that - we have a Church meeting as well - so quick and easy it will be.

Enjoy!
Jana

It's beautiful today, but cool! We definately needed covers last night..upper 40's!

Mary, one panel makes one tablerunner or wall hanging. And I found 5 different designs..geesh. After I make the ones for the kids for Christmas and the quarter action, I'll put the rest in the Yard Sale stuff. Whatever possessed me to buy all these panels! lol!!! And now I don't even LIKE them!

Judi, it's good to hear that you are on the mend!! Get lots of rest..

Well, Earl announced that we are going to The Feedmill restaurant tonight...to have Sizzlers steaks. It's been awhile since we have gone there to eat..it takes about 25 minutes to get there.

Joanne
