That has to be the funniest thing I've read in a long time....If you don't mind, I'm going to have to copy and sent it to some friends....

Thanks for the big chuckle (you know, the one that brings tears to the eyes).....

I'd never heard of such a thing but it sounded intriging so I had to Google it. What a wonderful and quick way to enjoy a chocolate high in the middle of the night! Hot and with ice cream. Might as well. Thanks for requesting this.

CHOCOLATE CAKE IN A MUG
4 TBSP. FLOUR
4 TBSP. SUGAR
2 TBSP. COCOA
1 EGG
3 TBSP. MILK
3 TBSP. OIL
1 MICROWAVE SAFE MUG

MIX DRY INGREDIENTS IN MUG. ADD 1 BEATEN EGG. STIR IN MILK AND OIL. MICROWAVE 3 MINUTES AT MAXIMUM POWER. WAIT TILL IT STOPS RISING AND SETS IN THE MUG. THEN TIP THE CONTENTS OUT ONTO A SAUCER AND ENJOY.

BAKED CUSTARD

This is from the Plaid Better Homes and Gardens Recipe Book.

3 eggs, slightly beaten
1/4 cup sugar (I used Splenda)
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups milk, scalded (I used 1% or skim)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Nutmeg (for sprinkling on top, if desired)

Oven 325 degrees

Combine eggs, sugar, and salt. Slowly stir in cooled milk and vanilla. Fill six 5-ounce custard cups (OR use a 1-quart casserole, which I used); set in shallow pan on oven rack. Pour hot water into pan to 1" depth. Sprinkle nutmeg on top, if desired. Bake at 325 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes (60 minutes for quart casserole), or until knife inserted off center comes out clean. Serve warm or chilled. 6 servings.

May serve with fruit. Blueberries are yummy!!!

I like to make this or potato soup when I have milk that needs to be used close to expiration date.

Lucie, This is a fairly simple Potato Soup.....

3 stalks of celery w/leaves, sliced
1 large onion, sliced
4 Tbls. butter
1 Tbl. parsley flakes
6 medium potatoes
1 Tsp. salt
3 cups of milk

Cook, elery, onion and parsley flakes in the butter for a few seconds, add 1 cup of water and cook for 3 minutes and then put aside...
Cube potatoes in lg. pot, add water to cover, add salt and cook until semi soft...
Remove 1/2 of the potatoes and set aside
With mixer, blend rest of the potatoes, add the celery mixture and stir well...Add the 3 cups of milk and then add the rest of the potatoes and cook for 10 minutes...

If soup is too thick, add more milk and if too thin, add instant potato mix, slowly....
Add salt and pepper to taste....

I wasn't too clear on this entry. I am looking for this receipe. Back in the 60's Corning cook ware placed a small brochure of recipes in with their packaged nesting set of cookware. One of the recipes was for chicken that was sauted then placed in their large deep dish, apple cider was added some seasonings and during the last few minutes of baking frozen peas were added. It seems there were potatoes and corrots in it (not sure, it has been a long time since I made it). I remember the brochure had a recipe for French Apple Pie that was made with washington delicious apples, rasins and walnuts. Hope someone out there has it. Thanks, Raye
