Prayers needed for Rod, my DH. I rushed him to ER this am. He was having severe chest pains. Never had a heart problem but who knows. He didn't want to go because of the cost but I told him it is either $65 for ER or being dead. He was in too much pain to argue.

He is still in the cardio observation unit for 23 hrs. They plan to do a stress test in the morning. He is more worried about cooking the turkey for thanksgiving than he is his own health. DRs laughed about that. He has so many other health problems, drs decided to keep an eye on him for awhile.

Thanks for your prayers everyone. You are always there when we need you. God bless and prayers for all of you today too. Hugs and love Shirley Mae

Happy to report an UPDATE on ROD. He is back home tonight.

I posted an update over in the sew-in section. No heart troubles on the tests but found out he is diabetic. Means lots of diet and life changes but some we both need......dieting, weight loss, and eating better for a healthier and, hopefully, long life together.

Thank you so much for your prayers and kind thoughts. It means so much to me and Rod too. Rod is cooking the turkey in the smoker in the morning. Going to DGD's house for Thanksgiving tomorrow. He loves to BBQ or Smoke things for the family, his specialty. So happy he is able to be back home doing the things he loves with the family again. Had us all worried for awhile there.

Need to get some sleep. Thanks again everyone. Prayers that you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving with those you love. God bless, Love and hugs, Shirley Mae

Have any of you had cataract surgery? How long did it take for you to get the surgery arranged and what tests did you need to have done? I have been waiting for over a year. I feel like my Dr. Is just dragging his feet way too long. I only have one eye as it is and I am almost blind now. My drivers license has expired, I haven't been able to drive in over a year. Any help appreciated.

Ruth, I told my DH about your situation last night. He has had cataract surgery in both eyes. He lost the sight in one eye yrs ago.

Drs waited until he was nearly blind before they would even consider surgery on the other eye. Perhaps that is why they are waiting but they should have explained that to you.

Ruth, you are in our prayers that God will provide the medical care and help you need for this situation. Please know, we have been thru this. We know the fear, the doubts, the waiting and hoping and praying because the future is so unknown. May God surround you with angels of support and hugs and hope and of course prayers for you and your family.

May God bless you. Please ask the dr to explain why they waiting. Hugs and love coming your way and lots of prayers too. Shirley Mae

I asking for prays for a young lady on a radio show I listen to on my iheart radio. It's Bob and the showgram from North Carolina. Her name is Peanut Butter (Brookys) is her name on the show. It two guys and two young ladies talking about what's happening in the world, North Carolina and there life's too. Well Peanut Butter found out this weekend her Mother has breast cancer. She ask us the Showgram family (us the listener) to pray for her Mother. The breast cancer is cureable kind. I know how we are at our prays here and I'm putting her and her mother name in our temple we have here in Seattle, WA.

I had a root canal done today and I'm fine. No pain but I'm ready for bed tonight.

So much love, friendship and big cyber Hug too,

Katherine

Sending prayers up for Peanut Butters Mother and for all in need. I too have a dear friend just diagnosed with a bad breast tumor. Why do we have to have that dreadful disease?

Love hugs and prayers for all. Wish I could send her a card of love and hugs.

We must place our faith, hope and trust in the Lord. Prayers for strength for us to help our friends deal with this too.

Love and hugs to all,
Tina B

I have not said much lately as my heart has been heavy (as Teresa puts it) but have received prayers from her and Shirley Mae. Shirley Mae suggested I post about my sister.

She has been ill since about 8 months after our mother past away in 2005. So about summer of 2006. Despite having stayed in just about every hospital there is in Las Vegas and the Mayo clinic in Phoenix nobody has really been able to say what was wrong with her. Back and forth between strokes and seizures. She always seemed to recover to quickly for a stroke and she had never had seizures as a child so why she would start now I could never figure out. I have basically gone on about life knowing that one day my DBIL would call and my sister would be gone.

Well, New Years day, I received a call from one of my other sisters saying that my oldest sister had had a stroke, that it was much worse than any of the others and she was fearful of her future. I was unable at that point to go to Las Vegas so kept up with her health as best I could via phone calls. Turns out, she has a brain cancer. (or that is their current thinking). Ringed lesion showing on her brain scans. What the current doctors are saying is they believe it is metastatic but have been unable to find a primary tumor anywhere else. About 3 years ago, she had significant abdominal surgery and about 4 ft of intestine removed. The neuro surgeon she is now seeing, believes there was most likely cancer there and since they weren't looking for cancer, did not biopsy it. Hence, the primary tumor is already gone and that is why they can't find it. I was able to get to Las Vegas to see her the 3rd week of January. They have scheduled and cancelled her surgery twice now to attempt to remove the tumor. Some doctors say it shouldn't be attempted, the current one believes she can at least biopsy it so they can treat it appropriately. She is once again scheduled for surgery on the 27th of February (my little sisters Birthday, very confusing as there are 4 of us!) The surgeon says she will remove it if she can but sis will still need chemo and possibly radiation. I can't be there as DH is out of town and nobody to care for DGS (he lives with us) I will go as soon as possible after.

I am asking that prayer be held for her and her husband that the surgery is successful and she can fully recover. If you wouldn't mind also praying for the hands of the surgeon to use the skill necessary for this delicate surgery.

Thanks for all your prayers Valerie
