Sigh!!!! I am up 1lb. Today is the first day of my new Paleo diet. Need to go to the store and get non dairy, no sugar creamer. My fav has no dairy, but ingredients says sugar. Also, need to get margarine....no more butter. I can do this. Need to get thru the first week and have a loss. That will get me going.

Doing good girls, we are here and that is a start.

You ladies did wonderful yesterday !!! Just keep it up and get out and walk . We are having a beautiful day here in the mountains of AZ. Got up at 6 and took Luke out for his morning walk. Now I am waiting for DH to get up so I can get dressed for the stepping/walking class and then quilting with my traveling buddy.

Bought two book yesterday on Paleo diet. A lot to learn and food to give up. Next week will tell how successful this diet is for me. Lol

Keep on moving.

Ladies,
I saw if you take your weight times 12 that gives you how many calories you need a day to stay at that weight. I did it and it was an eye opener. Last year I lost 20 pounds and kept most of it off. I go up or down 1-3 pounds a day.

I would like to join with you. I have just finished walking over one mile this morning. That is 2892 steps so far and have burnt off my breakfast. The dogs are wiped and my feet are objecting some too.

This was a great idea.

You can do it Carole! Remember if it's really hard they suggest to eat 3 regular meals a week for your first 2 months. I think I have 3 regular meals a month, but those regular meals were enchiladas with corn tortillas :-) gotta have my enchilada fix LOL They also say if you really want something to eat a little of and then go back on the diet the next day, it's flexible :-) The way I look at it is: it may take me an extra couple months to get to the weight I want but I'm giving up so much that if I have a treat 1-2 times a month I don't feel like I'm deprived of everything :-) just like at the end of each month I have a DQ run planned :-) I gave up ice cream any other time so I figured once a month is my reward :-) I love ice cream and potatoes but I have to say that the ice cream was the hardest to give up so I made a deal with myself; lose weight, eat Paleo and reward of ice cream at end of month :-) that way me myself and I are all happy :-)

Welcome kho. Wow 20 lbs is a big loss. Good for you. We have our weigh in on Tuesday, all day. Just tells us if you are up or down. We are here for you.

Tina, how can I not do this when I have a cheerleader like you. Is there an amount of the meat or poultry you can have at a meal. I didn't bring my food scale, but I will bring it back when I go home for my infusion. I am not a dessert eater and includes ice cream so that is a big help. How I got in this shape is beyond me. I have tried everything and loose a lb and gain it back next week. I walk and tried to watch what I ate. So here I am and hope this diet will kick start my loss. And with that I am off to my walking class. Lol

Carole, when I eat fish I usually eat the portions on the box, hamburger 1 small patty about the size of the palm of my hand, 1 center cut pork chop, half a cut chicken breast, if I eat roast or something like that I fall back on the portion measurement of as thick as a deck of cards and the size of the palm of my hand :-) I hope that helps. I don't weigh my food. No calorie counting on this either :-) I'm hoping either after this month or next I'll be able to start walking again, my feet are so swelled I can't wear anything but flip flops and those aren't good to walk in.....at least not for me, I'm a little unsteady in them.

Hi all. I have recently started a new journey to health and wellness. I have joined Weight Watchers (again) and am trying to eat closer to whole natural foods. It's one step at a time but my meeting leader is awesome and very supportive.

I have battled weight my whole life and lost. This time I am scared. I am 51 and over 100 pounds over weight. It is time to do some thing. I weigh on Wednesdays.... I hope that's ok. Today's weigh I was 260.8. I lost 1.4 pounds. My goal for the week is to walk everyday.

Glad to find this thread. We CAN do this!

SooG, we'd is alright if you weigh in on WW. It will be more accurate anyway. Their scale has to be better then these home scales. Just keep trying to do your best. That is ll we can do. You go girl 1.4 lbs is FANTASTIC. Keep up the good work. Welcome to our support group.

Darn Tina, I had pop CORN today and totally forgot I should not have it. Didn't the cavemen pop corn over the open fire. Lol. First mishap . So I am nots going to beat myself up. Ordered my veggies and fruit from my co-op. Pick it up on Sat. So that will help.

Off for Taco night with a group of friends. I have the salad with no chips and will not eat the sour cream. Only lettuce, meat, and salsa. That should be good
