I have to admit that my 4 y/o grandson went through my stash a couple of weeks ago and began picking out fabrics to use as extras in upcoming projects. Being a boy, he had no patience and thought we could sew the fabrics immediately, like the fat quarters were instantly the sizes we needed and as if I had the other fabrics cut hahahahaha!! He has a lot to learn... My granddaughter is almost 6 and really hasn't rummaged through the stash yet like her brother has. I did set my machine to tortoise speed when he insisted he had to "make the fabric" and he sewed a 4" long seam with my 1/4" foot. Maybe he'll take an interest? I made the mistake of telling him about Spiderman fabric and he instantly had to go to the fabric store. Why do I do these things? LOL

I forgot the topic, sorry about the tangent... kinda famous for doing that, is why sooo many WHIMMs and WIPs are in my sewing room. My DH has looked at my stash, but yet to plunder through it. He did ask me over the weekend if I had "bulk" amounts of fabric. Does he think I buy my fabric by the bolt? Gee, only if I could. He wants covers made for the outdoor chairs, just a simple slide over what is there now so it can be washed... specified his colors. Now I need to measure the chair pads so I know if I have enough yardage on hand or not. Gee... that might mean a run to the LQS and he didn't bat an eye when I told him that either!

WHIMM... is a Work Held In My Mind.... those great ideas we get and aren't started yet... might have the fabrics for them or just a name of a quilt or sketch or pattern.
