My vodka was FREE--a renter left half a bottle when they moved, so I put it to use in this. I read another recipe, and it added half a cup of liquid starch to Joan's recipe. I like it a little better--still no starch residue to contend with.

I did find some vodka made from Idaho russets :) I'm going to try it first using toekeyotow's recipe, and then FarmChicks. Problem is I forgot to buy distilled water, maybe tomorrow.

You ladies have made my day. I think if I make the spray starch and drink the rest of the vodka I won't notice my crooked sewing lines!! Then I can attach a disclaimer to my quilt gifts, sorry under the influence LOL. Has anyone actually tried this?

Most vodkas are now made with wheat...potato vodka is more expensive...and the answer is "no" I didn''''t know that through experience...the lady at the liquor store told me (hahahaha)
