hey i have my wobbly fixed its amazing when you look at the picture a little closer that it showed me exactly whats wrong i had the metal thing in the wrong place just swaped it and put plastic then metal thing and presto no more wobble so glad to know i was not the only one that had that problem so just look at diagram and it was so easy how did i miss it when i replaced it the first time well it was late at night so i blame it on bad lighting (smiling)

Gardenquilter - I am glad I am not the only one who had two blades stuck together. It happened to me the first time I changed the blades! I really have learned a lesson.

It's sure easy to have 2 blades stuck together - the way they are oiled in the package. It's happened to me, too!

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to let you all know that I spoke with a Customer Service rep from Olfa a couple of days ago, and learned that the "black thingy" that I referred to in an earlier post is NOT supposed to be worn down on one side. Specifically, the rounded black thing that's seated inside the cutter where you assemble the blade parts should be protruding ever so slightly the same amount on BOTH sides of the cutter. Mine had become worn down on the left side (I am a lefty), and when the Olfa rep re-assembled my cutter she thought it was all better because she set it up for a righty. When I received it and re-assembled on the left side, that's when my blade began wobbling again.

So, if any of you have wobbly blades, and you've made sure that it's assembled properly and not with two blades - check to see if the black center thing is worn down making it not protrude at all. You can then call or write Olfa for a FREE replacement. Mine is coming any day now.

Happy and safe cutting,

Karla

Oh, Karla! I know it's 7 years since you commented, but I wanted to let you know that your footwork helped me. Finally, a solution to my years'-long annoyance. Yes, my blade was wobbly, and upon examining the black middle 'thingy', I indeed had one flat side which was causing my blade to shift around. So, ... thank you, thank you! Rather than messing with companies and middle thingys I think I'll just replace my 20-year-old cutter.
