SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Nov 21st

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Nov 21, 2023 6:03 am

Good morning, everyone!

We had a windy night and a big dead limb down in the campground roadway about 2 rigs from ours. Whew! Glad nothing fell out of the tree we're parked under. We have solar panels and would hate for them to get damaged. As it is, the acorns fall on our roof and sometimes it sounds like we're being strafed with gunfire, they are so loud! Today is supposed to be windy, too, with winds over 15mph. 61 deg though. I think it will be an indoor day. I'll be stitching, of course. Bill has some odd things he wants to do plus read and there are always movies we can watch. Al & Tina will be hitting the road for FL in about 30 min. He is pulling in hoses, cords, and their slide now. It will be lonesome with them gone.

LORI - I hope your son loves his new home. Has he seen it or did he buy unseen? 30K for 3 acres and a house sounds like a bargain if the house is livable. In fact, it sounds like a bargain even if the house isn't livable. He'll enjoy fixing it up and making it his own. Our neighbor, Vicki, had 2-1/2 acres with a tear-down house and her kids got $860,000 for it.

TINA - how did quilting go yesterday? Make much progress? I think you need to teach Frankie how to run the quilting machine. We do see our grandsons occasionally on an individual basis but their off hours are very full of their friends, hiking, biking, camping, tennis, game-playing, etc. It's hard for them to fit us in.

CAROL - TG at your friends sounds nice! What does your DH consider dressing up? We are pretty casual with all our friends. In fact, Susie will text me before we come over and say, "You aren't bothering with a bra, are you?"  (for the record, I usually do bother.)

BECCA - I'm glad you got your tooth fixed. To repair a partial filling did he have to drill out the remaining portion and start over with a complete new one? You've had enough dental work the past few weeks. I hope you're done now! And, like Tina, I, too, had a vision of you washing off your pork chops in a sink! lol!

For tonite's supper, we have leftover rice so we're going to fry onions, hamburger, and add in the rice and some parsley I froze fresh before we left home for a one-pot meal. I'll toss a salad and voila`- supper!

What magical thing are you whipping up for your supper tonite?

Good morning all 🌞
Mary, glad that limb wasn't near you! I hope those acorns don't damage your solar panels. We've been pretty breezy and windy here the last couple of days, a storm is heading our way but I don't think we'll be lucky enough for any moisture, our temps are going to drop though.
I wish your grandsons were full of grandparents time too.
Quilting yesterday was productive 🎉 I have Elijah's done! 🎉 I couldn't do more but I'm hoping to load Easton's today. Elijah's has some oops quilting but it also has some of my best to date, I can see I'm improving! 😊 I'm very happy with it.
Lori, that is a great price for land and a house, even if it is a fixer upper. Here that would sell for at least 50k for a fixer upper and 100k to 200k for a move in ready.
Carol, I haven't dressed up in ever, I'm always casual but clean 😊 I actually don't think I have any dress clothes anymore.
Becca, did you ask about a grilled pork chop? I think you should, maybe it would be a big hit for the chef. I wish you could've stayed closer to where you were so you could see Marty and Estel and the grands more often.
Holly is taking me to some little shops here in town later, she's looking for an angel for her tree and something else. I know one we're going to is awesome, it's a thrift store and they help out a no kill shelter here in town. They have very nice things.
Supper tonight will be leftovers, I ended up making chicken and dumplings instead of the soup.
Tina

Becca, pecan pie is one of my favorites. I know everyone will enjoy it.

Tina, You a whipping through those Christmas quilts. I decided to finish mine next year. Just too much going on here right now.

Mary, you are very lucky that tree didn't come down on your home. That would be terrible. Jonathan has not seen the property in person. He'll get there today. He stayed in Kerrville last night. The properties here are so over priced. A house in our neighborhood just sold for $1,100,000. We live in an older track where the houses were built in 1962. You maybe get 1/8 of an acre. The yards are big for this area though. I don't know how people can afford to buy them.

We'll all the dogs are walked. Jack, Wrigley, Koda, and Hunny Bunny. Bill is playing golf, I took 2 and then 2 more. I need to vacuum and clean up the kitchen. But first I'm going to make myself a Belgian waffle.

We'll do a late lunch when Bill gets back from golf.

Have a lovely day.
Lori 8-)
