SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Nov 19th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Nov 19, 2023 4:18 am

Happy Sunday,

What a great weekend we are having. Nice weather, fun visit with the A's, tasty pizzas, and stocking stitching. Lots of smiles here. Today will be great, too. No A's, but A-related activities. I'll be doing more stitching on Amara's stocking, and Bill will be removing the plywood platform he's got in the back seat of the truck and fitting in a car seat attachment the kids have left for us "just in case". There is a rumor that we'll be getting to do a fair amount of babysitting while we are here and might be needing that seat.

LORI - What is the pattern on the tea towel? They make such nice gifts. When you give a handmade gift to someone you give them a little piece of your heart. 💗 That tortellini soup sounds delicious!

BECCA - that must have been so scary for Brodee and his parents. He's had at least one seizure before, hasn't he? The little guy is a fighter for sure! Taylor just doesn't need extra stress right now. I'm sure once you get into the swing of that stocking it will all come back - just like riding a bike! And like Lori, I was also wondering how you cut your apples and what you do to them to prevent them from turning brown. Dip them in lemon juice? Have you tried requesting your pork chop to be grilled? Maybe they would do it that way for you. Or simply ask them to hold the gravy? All they can say is no.

TINA - poor Elijah. Ear infx hurt! Autumn used to get them a lot and the doctor told us to get rid of the bottle. She didn't get many bottles as she was a breast-fed baby, weaned at 7 months and went right to a sippee cup. But occasionally we gave her a bottle just for convenience. Once we ditched the bottle at about 1 year, she didn't have any more infections. Did you have a nice day out with Holly and the kids yesterday?

We still have to work out supper details, but right now I'm leaning towards chili over baked potatoes or spaghetti. I have salad makings, too. But my sis and I will decide later this morning. We've kind of taken turns making/sharing suppers. And we got the pizzas yesterday. We only have two more suppers with them before they leave to move on to FL.

Have you got a supper plan yet?

Mary, it's just a cute Christmas tree design on the tea towel. I have many books with lots of embroidery designs.

Becca, thanks for the tip on the apples. I will try that. Is angora easy to knit? I've been knitting less than 2 years, so my experience is little. I did buy some alpaca yarn to play with. It's very soft.

My son left for Jasper TX today. He's driving his truck out. He'll sign the paperwork and close on his property Wednesday. It took an extra 3 months to process, because of probate. He'll be back in 2 weeks to pick up his dogs and van. I'll miss him, but I know he needs to go have his own life. Once he gets settled I'll go visit. I cleaned this afternoon, so I might do a little stitching tonight.

Dinner will be leftover soup. It is really good. I didn't use cabbage or spinach like the recipe. Here's the link to the page. https://www.artandthekitchen.com/hearty ... lini-soup/

have a lovely evening.

Hi all 😊
I guess when I was here this morning I forgot to post. I've been working on a quilt most of the day, I'm tired and my legs are protesting but I'll give them a little break and get back at it tomorrow. I'm actually standing then sitting in my sewing room chair for 5 but I'm doing the quilting on 1. I might finish this other top that I didn't get back to and take turns tomorrow, we'll see. I don't want to get myself down and not be able to do Thanksgiving dinner.
Mary, I just love the pics of you and Amara, you can see the happy all over your face 😻 😍
We had one of those bases in our suburban when Jazmyne, Easton and Preston were little, they sure make it so much easier to just clip the infant carrier into instead of strapping a carseat in and out every time.
I'm not sure how Elijah drinks milk, he was a beast fed baby. When he's at the table he has a sippy cup.
Becca, did you have soup at church tonight? I was wanting to make soup but didn't want to come out of my sewing room.
Lori, how far away will your son be from you when he moves? I don't get to see mine near as much as I'd like and he's only an hour away. I'm so thankfull that
Holly and the kids are only 10 minutes away and are here very often.
Well I made shortcut foods tonight, frozen chicken fried steak (popped in the oven), packaged gravy and instant mashed potatoes, no veggie because just that was too much to eat.
