Supper Club - Sunday, Nov 12

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Nov 12, 2023 5:18 am

Good morning!

Sunday! A day of rest. But we rested yesterday after we got the trailer cleaned and the laundry done. I stitched on the stocking and made a lot of progress. Pretty sure I will get it finished in time. 👏👏. Today we will be back on the road. 350 miles to go. Tomorrow will be about the same but we will arrive at our RV park in Austin tomorrow afternoon. Yay! We can stay put for six whole weeks then!

Becca, so you’ve been commissioned to do a stocking, too. What color will it be? Do you knit a Design into it? A name? Do you make a lining for it? You can tell, all I know about knitting is it takes needles and yarn. Lol! So sorry you are missing out on the birthday party. You said Alex would “take care of it“. I’m kind of curious what that means…..

Lori, your quilt is lovely. Your friend will love it I’m sure. I have never heard of a shampoo bar. I use pantene for curly hair shampoo, and conditioner. But when I come south, I notice my hair (and skin, too!) gets very dry. It returns to normal when I return to home.

Tina, did Easton‘s team win their game? Is it baseball? He is past the T-ball stage, right? Glad you like your haircut. I have read, but don’t know if it’s true, that everyone should change their personal care products – shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, soap, etc. every one or two years. I don’t do that because all my stuff still works great. Just something I read a few years ago that stuck with me.

I am going to make a quick pasta tonight, our last night on the road.

What’s your plan?

Good morning all 🌞
Yay Mary, you'll be getting done with that stocking in time!!! Score!!
Safe travels.
No they didn't win but I think they all had fun. He's in Little League, 8 to 10 year olds.
You know that might be true about changing personal products....I used Dove soap all growing up and up till I had Holly, after that it would make my skin so dry, flaky, red and itchy I had to change. I change my shampoo and conditioner probably every 2 to 3 years, mostly rotating between my favorites. My hairdressers have always says it's good for my hair..... but I realize it isn't for everyone..... unlike Holly who thinks what she does for her hair should be right for mine LOL uh no.
Becca, I'm too wondering what Alex will take care of it means....
Lori, I haven't heard of a shampoo bar either, what's it called?
My gorditas didn't turn out last night so we had chicken tacos, they're Easton's favorite so he was happy because he came over to stay the night. I can't find my recipe that one of my BF's gave me over 30 years ago, it always turned out prefect. It has to be in my recipe box, maybe I just overlooked it, I'll look again today.
I may make veggie beef soup tonight but I want to check the weather first....I may appreciate it more in a few days. Otherwise it'll be something to go with a baked sweet potato..... maybe pork chops? 🤔 💭 🤔 💭

The shampoo bar I use is called Humby. It's made in the USA and it's organic. One of the things I really like, is that I can read all the ingredients and know what they are. I get it from a company called Zero Waste Cartel. I hate plastics that are unnecessary, and I seek out products made here. One bar of Shampoo and conditioner lasts me 7 months or more. I think I found it on the USA Love List website. They list businesses that have products made in the USA only.

Mary I bet you are glad to almost be to your destination. I knew you would be able to finish the stocking on time.

Tina, you'll probably find the recipe when you least expect it. That's the way things usually work out.

Bill just got home from breakfast, so it's time to take Jack and Wrigley to the park.

I have some chicken breasts I need to cook up, so may tacos tonight. Or Chicken and pasta. It's too early to tell.

Have a lovely day.
