SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Oct 29th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Oct 29, 2023 5:11 am

Good morning,

We are a clear and chilly 34* this morning, but my sisters have snow (and so does my brother, but he's SUPPOSED to have it in Alaska!). So, no complaints here! Gives me a very good excuse to wear my new coat!

Yesterday was Christmas with the grandsons. They really seemed to like their shirts and were surprised that I made them! I shared a photo over on PHOTOS. I did a few chores around the house after the boys left and cooked the chicken I need for today's white chili. This morning - a couple light uglies and then friends are coming over to enjoy the Seahawk game at 1pm. That will be our day.

LORI - a happy celebration for sure! Happy birthday to you both! And how cool it is that your home is so dog friendly! I love that picture!

CAROL - You make D-land sound so magical. Of course, I guess it IS the Magic Kingdom! :D We were there on Christmas Day back in 2010. It was fun to see everything decorated for Christmas! I'm glad your DH is enjoying the World Series. I like baseball, though it moves a little slowly. Bill doesn't like to watch it - he keeps falling asleep. But I do enjoy at least keeping tabs on the series.

BECCA - I hope you enjoyed that painting class. How are all the babies in your family? I guess Hadlee and Brodee aren't really babies any more, are they? Thank you for contacting Kathy. I was worried about her. She posted this morning.

TINA - Seems strange to hear you say your house is chilly! lol! Looks like your day temps are still in the 70's. Nice! You may have to make that Autumn Love quilt in secret if you want to keep it! But don't you have OWL to do first? What's the report on your Christmas quilts?

When I finish typing out this post, I'll get my white chicken chili into the crockpot and mix up my dry ingredients for cornbread. Doyle and Susie will be here to watch the Seahawks game at 1pm. We've got some vacuuming to do and then rearrange the furniture a little bit so the TV can be see easily from all the chairs. I figure to serve supper at halftime which will be about 2:30. I guess it's more of a lupper than supper. Susie says she is bringing a dessert, but I have no idea what it will be.

What's going on your plate (or into your bowl) tonite?

Tina, the Autumn Love quilt is so darn cute. I completely forgot about it until Val posted the lotto. I better not tell Mary how many quilts I have in progress. She's a task master. haha I still have my OWL quilt to make also. I traced some of it at retreat last week.

Mary, sound like you had a good time with the boys. They looked great, and those shirts were perfect.
I don't think I'll ever do plaid. To much work to line things up. How many more days until you head south to see the adorable Amara?

Carol, I've never been to D-land at Christmas. I usually go to Knott's Berry Farm as I'm a Snoopy fan. They decorate really cute for Christmas there too.

Becca how was the class?

We had a nice day yesterday with the kids and dogs. When Bill gets home from breakfast with the boys, we'll head to the park with Jack and Wrigley. The house is clean, so I'll play in the sewing room today.
It needs a little cleaning up. I have another autumn block to stitch down, then Ill pull fabrics for my OWL since I traced 4 blocks at retreat. I'm a little behind doing a block a month, but I'll catch up.

Dinner will be grilled chicken and leftovers from yesterday.

Have a lovely day.
Lori 8-)

Hi all!
Sorry I'm late, we were up at dark and got ready for Easton's 8:30 game. Dogs, chickens and cat all have to be taken care of before we go anywhere. We left by 8. I did manage do make one of those hat gift card holders on the AP&Q magazine, I threw 1 away, next one came out right but I thought to myself..... self I think we should try it without turning it and low and behold self was right! Way easier and I like it the best! That's the 1 I made before leaving.
Mary, enjoy your game! We'll be watching the Broncos after Easton's afternoon game. He has a coach that isn't good, she doesn't give pointers or stand on the sideline and help or anything, she stays in the dugout, ugh. I know it's a volunteer thing but gosh people should follow through for volunteering too, a commitment is a commitment.
Becca, those little ones are sure having the birthdays, so fun!
Lori, LOL yep she is, shhhhhh we won't tell her how many quilts we have in progress 😉
Carol, I bet Disneyland is beautiful at Christmas! I remember going into a big mall about 35 years ago at Christmas, I was in awe of how decked out it was!
Well we're running behind, our DDIL; Maria called and talked for 40 minutes, I love her, she's so awesome!
Supper will be chicken fried steak, baked potato and a veggie.
Tina

Good Evening,

Breakfast, Church and then I basted a quilt. I am still working on binding, but it was a beautifully warm day, and I had a large quilt to baste. I used both basting spray and pins. I have two other quilts to baste, but I really don't have enough pins. I have four containers of pins and used three on the one I basted today. I am thinking of buying more pins. lol

Dinner was pizza for DH. I had some broccoli.

Maryz - Glad the shirts worked out so well! I remember how you worried about the shirts. I saw that Cats in PJs pattern, but I don't think I will make it.

Lori - I have sweet memories of Knotts when that park was free. Glad you had a nice birthday celebration.

Tina - Disneyland is very pretty at Christmas. Glad you are making progress on the Christmas quilts.

Becca - Glad to hear you liked the painting class.

Carol
