SUPPER CLUB - Friday, October 27th

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Oct 27, 2023 6:18 am

Good morning,

It's a brrr.... morning today! So glad I have my warm new jacket for my morning walks! I bought it a size too large, too, so I can wear heavier tops underneath on really cold days!

Yesterday was teeth cleaning. I had a new hygeniest - a young man just out of school. He was 27 and said his dream ever since he was 6 yrs old was to be a dental hygeniest. Who even thinks of a future career at 6 yrs old - let alone one in dentistry!? But he was good, gentle, friendly, and cute as a bug's ear. It was a good appointment. AFter that I helped Bill pull wire through the house from the new furnace up through the walls into the attic and back down to the upstairs hallway where the thermostat is - long story there but apparently this part of the installation wasn't included in our furnace guy's bid so Bill has to do it himself. I also did several loads of wash and paid a visit to my friend with the broken leg.

Today we're going to Costco to pick up 2 or 3 things and get our eyeglasses adjusted. Then some serious uglies - vacuuming and mopping. Our grandsons are coming tomorrow morning for "Christmas brunch". Looking so forward to seeing them!

LORI - I remember the stuff to paint on your hair. I never did it but knew lots who did. I didn't care for the frosted look. I figured I'd get it naturally soon enough! lol! And I did! And now look! And yes, I just might take matters into my own hands when we get to Texas - or turn myself over to Autumn's hairdresser and see if we can restore my red and let the gray shine! Happy birthday to your hubby! I'd forgotten that your birthdays were so close together.

CAROL - We spaced our shots out, too, over about 6 weeks. I know some of them can be given together without problems, but all of them at once seemed a bit overwhelming. I bet you have pretty hands. You keep up with your manicures. I usually do my own nails until the cuticles get too raggedy. But I would like to find a nail salon with someone who speaks English!

BECCA - that sounds like it was a lot of fun - helping with the pumpkin toss game. And a good way to meet more new people, too. You sure get a lot done in a day! I'm thinking of starting water aerobics when we get home from Texas. Our friends, Doyle & Susie, go to the "Y" and maybe I'll join their class.

TINA - sounds like teeth cleaning is the order of the day here! I loved my new hygeniest. He was younger than my grandson! He has a girlfriend, but he talked more about his mom than the GF. So - you recently did some furniture rearranging. Any chance a breeze could have blown that paper under or in back of some furniture? Where do you usually do your paper work? Could it have slid down behind a desk? Could a little artist have drawn a picture on it and taken it home for his fridge?

Well, I checked the freezer and it looks like the next biggest thing in there is a pot roast, so that's what we're having tonight. I have a short grocery stop to make so I'll add potatoes, carrots, and onions to my list. Trying to eat the biggest foods first because they won't fit easily into our small trailer freezer. And I don't want to leave meats, etc in the freezer at home for an additional 3 months if I can help it.

Wish you all could join us - it's a small roast but still big for just two people. But since you can't, what's the plan at your house?

Good morning all 🌞
Mary, glad you liked your new hygienist. Easton would make a good doctor I think, he's always known that doctors make him feel better and asks to be taken when he isn't feeling good, he's a funny kid. He's playing little league now, he's got a game tonight, tomorrow and Sunday, we went last weekend to a couple games and will this weekend. Matthew has his last tball game the 2nd and we're planning on going to that too. Preston is in to basketball but so far that hasn't started for his age group.
That's crazy that the wiring wasn't including in the installation of your furnace!
How fun to have Christmas tomorrow with your grandsons, they're getting their flannel shirts? And what else? What do they think about having a baby cousin? Will they go visit?
Lori, your November block is so stinkin cute!
Becca, sounds like you really had fun, little kids can be so much fun ❤️
I do paperwork on my kitchen table and all the solar paperwork is kept in 2 big manilla envelopes and they are kept totally separate in the bottom drawer of the filing cabinet. I think I've just given up, it was for 1 more free service.
We got our covid shots yesterday. Frankie's was easy to get, mine was denied for 30 minutes and come to find out that my prescription insurance doesn't cover covid vaccines anymore. So my health insurance is looking into it because the RX insurance said it was health insurance responsibility.... who ever heard of a health insurance being responsible for medication ugh. The pharmacy ran it under a coupon that the state pays for it. I personally think it's crazy that my Express Scripts insurance isn't paying for certain vaccines.
Hmm I'm thinking either chicken or pork chops for supper, it's Dad's night. 🤔 💭 🤔 💭

Tina, thanks. I have a couple more in the works.
They are fun to make. I'm trying out different methods of applique.

Mary, that is crazy that Bill had to do that. They don't even need to be wired anymore. Ours is not wired. We had it done last year.

Well I've been cleaning a bit. I also worked on a couple more November blocks. They are fun. I really want to make the Autumn Love quilt some day. It's so cute.

Dinner will be spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread and salad.

Have a lovely day.

Good Afternoon,

Just wanted to say hello. My reaction to the Covid Shot was to get very tired today. lol Good news I received my new passport today. It took four weeks since I mailed it. I did get laundry finished for the week, bed changed, bathrooms cleaned and started binding on Halloween quilt. Dinner tonight is Pizza. DH is watching the World Series.
