SUPPER CLUB - Wednesday, Oct 25th

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Oct 25, 2023 6:42 am

Good morning,

We've had quite a bit of rain for the last 24 hours and it looks like the next 24 will be just as wet and windy. This storm is headed east, so watch out, everyone east of me!

Yesterday got busy unexpectedlyearly! Scottie's 'stylist' called at 0800 while he and I were on our daily walk and she said she had a cancellation so if I could get him there soon, he could have it. Scott and I discussed it but I won the discussion, so we hot-footed it back to the house and off we went. I had him there 30 min after getting their call. Then I had just enough time to go pick up our mail before going to my dr appt. After that I hit Ross and found a new dress just because, and then off to CVS for a T-dap immunization. I got home from that and the phone rang and Scottie was ready to be picked up so off I went again. I barely had time to breathe until afternoon! Then Bill left for his own dr appt. He got the pneumonia "20" vaccine so we both were sporting bandaids last night. So glad everything in G.H. is within 3 miles! Today will be similar with chiro and hair appts and some grocery shopping. Then we meet Tex & Annette at 4pm for early supper out. I hope to get some laundry done today, too. I think I already need a nap!

TINA - sorry you didn't sleep well. I hate those nights. And if I fall asleep towards morning and oversleep, then I feel even worse! Your term, "mud" sums it up nicely! I hope today is a better day for you. Did you get that quilt loaded? I wouldn't really want to hang around for 2 hours for pizza either. What did you do with the leftover roast? After a reheat of the orginal supper, I like to make soup, pasties, or hash. And you've reminded me that I have a small roast in the freezer. We should probably eat that before we hit the road. I think I have a pork roast, too.

CAROL - I love that you have a cat! And you play with her! Foxy isn't too playful, but he does command attention. He is very affectionate, wants petting all the time, and when an 18# bowling ball wants on your lap, you give in! I have days, too, where I feel like I've been chasing my tail all day long yet couldn't tell you at the end of the day what I accomplished. Have fun at D-land today! Hope all that happy there recharges your batteries!

BECCA - I was noticing the colors here yesterday, too, and they made me think of you. We aren't known for fall color in the PNW but our road is edged with tall maples and right now they are full on bright yellow. And then I turned a corner and saw a smaller bright orangey-red tree. It was spectacular! But mostly, we are all about the evergreens. I'm glad you had a few good meals out this past week. Praying for that baby. Maybe he will wait to be born on March 22nd? Barring that, I will happily offer up the 23rd! :D One of Mary Q's grands is March 23rd (my birthday). Have you started the baby quilt yet? Will it be a hand-embroidered one? I do hope you get to meet Frankie and get some photos!

We are eating at Applebee's. Tex goes on these weird and extreme diets for 30 days a few times a year. He'll drop a lot of weight and at the end of the 30 days, goes back to eating like he always has - and gains the weight right back. We used to suggest he just moderate his daily diet and it would be easier on his body, but you haven't met stubborn until you've met Tex. We gave up that argument years ago and just go with the flow now. So we suggested Applebee's because they offer a lot more choices within his current diet parameters. I would love a big plate of chicken strips and fries, but will probably opt for a chicken salad of some kind.

What sounds good to you tonite?

Good morning all 🌞
Mary, we only got a trace of rain here, it really cooled us down though, I think our high was 68* but it was so nice!
Your day was a running marathon.
I slept better last night, thanks. I didn't even get in my sewing room yesterday, I was on the hunt for a paper from the solar company, I never did find it. I can see it in my mind and know exactly what it looks like and can't imagine why it's not with the rest. I'm not sure if I'll give up or try more today. I just reheated the roast and veggies, we finished it off.
We ate at Applebee's when we went to Albuquerque, we both got the chicken platter not knowing each platter was enough for 2 people LOL, thankfully we had an ice chest with us and our leftovers were saved.
Tex, eating like that isn't good for him, it can mess up how his body processes sugar and can cause diabetes,, he should be careful.
Hmmmmm I think I'll make tacos tonight unless anyone else has any better ideas.
Tina

Good Morning,

Maryz - Glad you got a D-tap. DH and I both got one last year. Glad you were able to get Scottie to his appointment. Will that give you some breathing room next week? I am getting a Covid Shot tomorrow morning then I will be all caught up. I am tired tonight but feel lots better.

Tina - Hope you are feeling better and get a good night's sleep.

Dinner tonight was leftover Bean and Barley Soup.

Carol
