SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Oct 24th

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Oct 24, 2023 6:45 am

Good morning,

We are really whizzing through October! Thanksgiving is only 30 days away! Yikes! Anyone want to kmow the count 'til Christmas?? We'll be with Autumn and her FAMILY in just 20 days! Our weather is taking a serious downturn this week. It's holding off until later today or tonite though. I hope.

Yesterday we got our new furnace. I hope it works well for us. The old one was just starting to conk out and "throw a switch" (Bill's words, plus a few others) occasionally after 47 years. We probably won't be needing this one to last quite that long. I also took the boys to the vet. Turns out Foxy isn't FAT, as my sister insists, but he's a Maine Coon and he's SUPPOSED to be big! 17-1/2# of beautiful black and white. I have the vet's official say-so. I also got some house uglies done and we have the trailer pretty well packed and organized. I even got out all the Christmas and birthday gifts for the grandsons who are coming on Saturday for breakfast. Odd moments of the day were filled with cross-stitching, my main project from now until it's done.

Today is our dr appts. Our labs were all great so I expect today will be a formality. Tomorrow is chiro and haircut and Thursday will be dental cleanings and Friday is Scottie's hair appt. A busy week! We also have 3 dinners with friends in the next 6 days but I'm only cooking one. I was noticing quite a bit of dust around the house last night. It bugs me. But I was waiting until after the furnace was installed before I got serious about dealing with it. And probably a good thing I did, as it was a messy job with air blowing dust around and they had furnace parts, packaging, tools, etc spread all over the family room yesterday. So today's ugly chore is going to be dusting.

TINA - glad you came back and posted for us! Otherwise, Becca and I would have had the table all to ourselves, and we prefer to share! Your ornament is amazing! The kids will love your extra little gifts. When my kids were growing up I tried to make them, and sometimes their friends, a new ornament each year with the year on it. When they left home, they had a shoebox full of ornaments for their tree.

BECCA - If I went to a gym, I'd want it all to myself, too! And if that could happen - maybe I would go . . . I bet your day with Mark and Denise was nice. Did you have lunch with your friend in your dining room or did you go out to a restaurant? Only 5 months til March! What is baby's actual due date? Maybe your birthday? Dare you hope? Do they know yet if it's a boy or girl?

Tonite's supper is going to be green chili chicken enchilada's. I have some frozen from the last time I made them. And a salad. Still working on eating down the freezer.

What's the plan for your supper?

Good morning all 🌞
Mary, maybe I should put the year on the ornaments? Maybe their name too? I'll have to see if I can.....
20 days, wow it's zooming fast, I'm so happy for you ❤️ you'll be cuddling Amara before you know it!
I didn't think Foxy was fat, he doesn't look fat to me, just a big guy. When our mommy kitty was fat it made her legs look short, Foxy doesn't look short 😂🤣
I had a rough sleepless night last night and then fell asleep in the late am of dark and got a couple hours sleep, I woke up at 8:50....I feel like mud.
I'll be working on another quilt today and loading one to quilt I think.
We're having leftover roast and fixings for supper. It's the last pizza night but we need to eat the roast up, plus the pizza place will be mobbed because they give away cash for best Halloween costumes and stuff. Usually I don't mind sitting 2+ hours but can't do that now.

Good Afternoon,

Dinner tonight will be Linguini and Sauce.

Maryz - Only 20 days until you see Amara? It will be lots of hugs and kisses. Hopefully she will recognize you from the Zoom time. Foxy is a big cat! Our cat got her shot and a weigh-in today. Turns out she isn't fat either. She weighs 11.5 pounds down from last year by 0.3 pounds. We did start feeding her indoor adult food and I play with her and make her run. She likes it.

Tina - Sorry for you and the sleepless night. It is so hard sometimes to get a good nights sleep. Hope you sleep well tonight and wake up refreshed!!

Becca - Sounds like you are "working" around some meals where you live and enjoying it more. So glad you have family close by and you get to see them often.

I basically finished my Halloween quilt. I need to put the binding on and then sew it down the back. I made the label the other day, so it is ready. I had a few things to accomplish today but don't ask what they were because I am not sure what I did. I did call the insurance company. I cleared some papers off my desk, wrote emails, ironed DH shirts, made a call to JoAnn's to reschedule the classroom space. It all took time.

Tomorrow is a "me" day. I will recharge at Disneyland.

Have a great day!
Carol
