SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Oct 22nd

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Oct 22, 2023 5:22 am

Good morning,

Well, if you read my post in Sew-in, you know what a great evening we had last night! We attended a surprise wedding! It was purrfect - it was everything a wedding should be. Talk about an ice-breaking conversation starter!

Yesterday we got most of the trailer packed. Today is some house cleaning, Costco, and hopefully, going shopping for outfits for Amara and myself for our pictures. It's going to be a busy week ahead. Between us and the fur-folk, we have 9 appointments (dr, dentist, vet, haircut, groom, chiro) plus 3 dinners and a brunch. Not to mention our new furnace being installed. And I promised my friend, Carol, with the broken leg, that I would come visit her. I'm going to be needing a box of Calgon!

BECCA - what great accomplishments for all the kids! I think 4-H is so good for them. Any activity is, of course, sports, dance, music, drama, but 4-H seems so "healthy". congratulations to them all! And the friend who Bill helped with his deck wasn't a stranger, but he just wasn't a close friend. We've been to each other's houses a few times, though always with our common friends, Doyle & Susie. But Bill likes to step in and help when he sees a need, so that's what happened.

CAROL - a good idea to corral the cat in the bathroom! Maybe when we go again tomorrow morning, that's what we'll do. I tried what your manicurist tried for family photos. Just for a Christmas family gathering, but I asked each of my 3 kids to to choose a color for their family. At that time, 2 were just couples with no kids, but I didn't even assign colors, just wanted them different and told each to choose their own colors. You'd have thought I asked them to walk barefoot over coals! So I gave up. Your soup sounds delicious! Bean and barley. Yum!

We have some leftover cooked chicken in the fridge so tonite I think I'll make a pasta dish with that and pesto seasoning (Olive oil, walnuts, garlic, basil, & parm).

Got any great ideas for your supper?

Good morning all 🌞
Mary, what a fun evening you had!
Oh my goodness, your week is packed full! You'll need that Calgon for sure.
Becca, 4H and FFA are awesome in my book too, really centers the kids and teaches them such good life skills and I think makes them better people ❤️
Carol, glad you got your soup made, it sounds yummy.

Yesterday was kinda busy here. Frankie's 5 sisters are here visiting and 1 brother that doesn't live in town plus Frankie and the other brother that does live here, it was nice visiting. The class reunions have been happening and they've been going to those plus last night was the Old Timers 109th reunion and they all went to it, we didn't go. Jazmyne is in FFA and they served the food and had to be in their full dress uniform including their FFA jackets, they all looked so nice! She came back talking 90mph 🤣😂 she loved it plus with all the Remondini's and McSherry's there she got to visit with her favorite peoples.
Today is the Klobase so we'll go to that and we usually don't eat much supper except leftovers.

Good Afternoon,
Today has been finishing odds and ends. I embroidered the quilt label (on machine) for the Halloween quilt, sent emails I have neglected and straightened my sewing room a bit. It has been a great day. We will eat the Bean and Barley Soup tonight for dinner. DH and I really enjoyed it. Just before serving recipe calls for adding the spinach then Parmesan Cheese is added. Makes for a very tasty dish.

Tina - Sounds like lots of fun for your DH and you to see family!

Maryz - How nice to get to a wedding last evening! How fun to invite friends and get married right after the proposal. No jitters for anyone! I was sure you were going to be busy and you sure are going to be extra busy! You will be ready to leave town early no doubt.

Carol
