The dog alarm went off this morning. He wanted an early breakfast so he could get an early start on his first nap of the day. Goofy dog!
Yesterday was busy, busy, busy. We kind of pulled a practical joke on ourselves and traumatized our cat.
For some reason - probably because it was first day home after camping - we both were thinking yesterday was Monday. Foxy and Scott have vet appts Monday. So we chased Foxy around the house, dragged him out from under the bed, stuffed him into his carrier, and put him in the car. Scottie is always happy to go anywhere. We got to the vet's and they said, we were 3 days early! lol! So now we have to do it all over again on Monday. But what are the odds that we BOTH thought it was Monday! And even after all that, we were thinking our own dr appts, which are Tuesday, were today!
The rest of my day consisted of five loads of laundry, fetching the truck after service, a stop at Joann's for more unicorn fabric as long as I was in Tacoma and Dodge is close to Joann's, then we winterized the deck, bringing in the big rug and all the cushions and covering the furniture frames. Today we will start packing the trailer for TX. Christmas stuff, quilts, gifts, tote of vintage baby toys, all my sewing projects, etc. About 3pm we're to pick up Doyle and Susie and we're all going to a catered BBQ at their friend's house. Bill helped him build a big covered deck and this is an event to christen the deck. Weather isn't BBQ purrfect, but I believe there will be several warmers. And I plan to wear a warm outfit.
Speaking of outfits, I rec'd a card this morning, left on my computer last night, telling me I need to go shopping for coordinating outfits for Amara and myself because there will be formal family pictures taken in Texas Dec 1st! The fun is already starting!
BECCA - it would be strange to me to not have control over what my supper was going to be. I've been "the decider" since I was 19 years old. I'm sure you know just what I mean. Actually, the heel of my stocking is easier than the rest. Not so much detail with half and quarter cross-stitches. The foot is going to get "busy" again. I'm still not sure I'll have it done by Christmas, but I'm going to give it a good effort. I remember when I was stitching Autumn's (she was 12 at the time), I was stitching all the way up to midnight on Christmas Eve. Even after the stitching is done, the stocking still has to be washed, blocked, dried, and assembled. Her stocking was still damp on Christmas morning! The goodies inside caused it to stretch and bulge and it still has bulges in it to this day!

CAROL - the 30-min rule is a good one. I, too, try to break up the action to use different muscles, like Tina mentioned, too. I also switch feet.
TINA - you are smart to alternate your activities. I know that the piriformis muscle, which runs through the groin and down the leg, is used when using the foot pedal or knee lift. If it's overused, it gets very sore and can compress the sciatic nerve. And you know what happens then! So I alternate feet, which has helped me quite a bit.
No cooking here tonite. We're going to a BBQ where I think the main dish will be chicken. It's going to be catered and there will be a lot of people we don't know. We're invited because the host was building a big covered deck last August. He is a good friend of our good friend, Doyle. Doyle was helping him but after one day Doyle's back gave out. So Bill offered to help and ended up spending four days at "Larry's", building this thing. So, this BBQ is the christening event for it and that's the story of how we earned a spot on the invitation list.
So what story goes along with YOUR supper tonite?
