Supper Club. Thursday, oct 19

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Oct 19, 2023 6:12 am

Good morning

Yesterday was awesome here at the beach. 65 deg and sunny. Went into Westport and just goofed around. Then went for walk on beach and sat in sand, leaning on a big log and watched seagulls swoop around, looking for fish. (They found one!). We sat outside for happy hour (cat & dog, too) and then grilled burgers, ate outside, and took long walk. Watched movie “RV” with Robin Williams, Cheryl Hines, Kristin Chenowith, and Jeff Daniels. So funny! In real life Jeff has his own large RV and said most of the mis-adventures in the movie he had experienced himself. We realized we had too. And the scene of one of those mis-adventures was filmed at a real campground that Bill and I stayed for one night of our honeymoon.

We are going home this morning. We’ll probably be home by 10:30 and have this buggy unloaded and cleaned by lunch, ready to start packing for Texas. We leave in 2 weeks.

Tina, I wonder if that restaurant’s business has fallen off. That would be a big indicator to them. it’s great to have your dad (and Kevin!) for supper. How often is dad there? Does he go to your brother’s house too, still? How is Christmas sewing coming along?

Becca, sorry to hear about strep throat in the family. That’s miserable. Hope all are well soon. But great to see your DB and niece!

When we get home its supposed to be about 68’. So I think we’ll grill chicken. We’ll also grill brussels sprouts and toss a salad.

Whats your plan!

Good morning all! 🌞
Mary, what a beautiful relaxing peaceful picture you painted, sounds like a prefect day to me.
Dad eats her every other night and sometimes more often. He does still go to my brothers but they're gone almost every weekend so either he makes something on his own or comes over here, sometimes we'll have him here for 4 evenings straight which is fine with me, I love having him here.
Christmas sewing has slowed down, we keep having grandkids LOL I may have to take up night sewing. I'm not panicked yet.....
Jazmyne is here till Monday I think, her school is closing and moving to a new building that was built. It was supposed to be finished for them to move in when school started the first of August but that didn't happen. I hope they did it nice and more functional for high school kids than where they were.
I'm thinking maybe chicken tortellini soup for supper.

Good Morning,

I spent most of yesterday ripping out quilting. I think it took me less than 5 minutes to quilt what I ended up ripping out, but it took me 10 hours to rip it out! It was black thread with black on front and orange on back. Guess where I did most of the ripping? I am now ready to quilt it though.

Maryz - Sounds like you had a wonderful time! Only two weeks until you leave for Texas? You will keep busy so the time will go quickly. Are you going to have "Christmas" for your grandsons before you leave?

Becca - Your drive sounds very nice. The trees must be beautiful.

Tina - Yes, you must be delighted to have your dad for dinner so often. You may need to tell your daughter what your Christmas gifts are going to be so she can distract children.

I need to cook something for dinner. I think it will be bean and barley soup. We had leftover Linguini with Garden Vegetables last night.

Today will be laundry and some cleaning mixed with quilting. I did get some laundry done yesterday too. Also will be going to the gym this morning.
