SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Oct 14th
Good morning,
We're pretty drippy here this morning after a night of rain. It's supposed to be dry today but cloudy and 61*. Summer is just a memory now.
Yesterday was laundry, Costco, grocery store, and two trips to pick up the mail. It so often happens that we get home from picking up our mail, and almost immediately receive a text that a package was delivered after we were there! Arghhh.. And since we wanted that package, I went back for it (just 2 miles). I also stopped at our little LQS and bought a bit of fabric for the next few projects so I could pack it up into the kits I've made for TX. My kits are all ready to go now, and my sewing is done. Today I'll get the last of camping stuff packed - which isn't much - and finish cleaning the sewing room, and maybe a few other rooms while I'm at it. We are to get about 80% of the eclipse today I think, but not sure much will show as we will be cloudy all day long.
LORI - line dancing is such a fun way to exercise. Well, any dancing is! I love it all! I wonder if Velda is still dancing. And I hope you are right - that we'll be too busy hanging with Little Missy to be doing much sewing. They are a bit of a drive from our RV park so in past years we've usually gotten together only once a week-end, trading off their house and our campsite. But this year will be a whole new ball game!
BECCA - I'm glad the bus ride along the Parkway was so enjoyable for you. Sometimes, it's just nice to get away, take a deep breath, and enjoy the moment. And how great is it that you have a bus or shuttle available!
CAROL - I'm sure you are an excellent quilting teacher! It would be fun to take a class from you. You mentioned that speaker was from Cal Tech and worked with the Mars Rover. All I could think of was the Big Bang Theory and all the guys worked at Cal Tech and Howard, trying to impress a girl, got the Mars Rover stuck in a ditch on Mars! haha! And yes, you are right - Winter before last I ran out of sewing to do and was in withdrawals so I went to the LQS there and the only pattern I could find that I was halfway interested in was Eliz Hartman's Gnomes. I got it finished just as we were leaving.
Our friends, Doyle and Susie asked us to come over this afternoon about 4pm. We offered to bring a Costco frozen Lasagna and they are making salad and bread. We'll eat and visit for a couple of hours. Both of them are pretty much home-bound lately with their health issues so we go visit them about once a week and try not to over-stay. So that will be supper for tonite - lasagna.
How about you?

Good morning all
Mary, I thought you were done with rain and were sending me some? What's up with you keeping it longer?

Isn't there a campground closer in Texas? Whenever Mom and Dad went anywhere, including here they just stayed in driveways, it was great! But come to think of it none of my family ever lived in town in town, they all had acres of land so it was easy to park the motor home out of everybody's way. I loved it when they came here for the holidays and parked in our driveway
Sewing is going kinda slow but I'm also trying to organize some things and I found something else to make for my Elf. I really hope I can get everything stuffed in my envelope, I may have to tape it 100% so it doesn’t burst at the seams.
I received my AP&Q mag the other day, I want to make everything in this one!!
Kevin will be staying with us next week, his project has moved to just west of us so next week they'll finish up and move on to Cruces. He's been supervising this job for months, the contractor moves slow. I know he'll be glad to be home nights again and I know Maria and the boys will be too.
I haven't thought about supper yet so not sure.
Tina

Becca, how nice that they will take you anywhere. I bet the tour was really nice.
Tina, I'll have to check out the AP&Q magazine. I like when I get a magazine and like all the projects.
Lately it's maybe one or none.
Carol, what did you teach?
Mary, I love dancing. It takes me a bit to catch on to all the different dances. When I was younger, I used to go all the time.
Today I went to my line dancing lesson. We took the advanced class, because the teacher wasn't teaching the beginning class today. I got 2 of the 3 dances. Will have to work a little more on the third. We were dancing an hour straight. I was a bit tired afterward. So much fun though. It finished up a top this afternoon. It's patriotic houses. I need to find and backing and quilt it. It will be added to the list.
Dinner will be rice with Indian Madras Lentils. Quick and easy.
Have a lovely evening.

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Oct 14th
Good Evening,
Lori - I taught a Beginning Quilter Class. We went over all of the basic stuff, thread, rotary cutter, mats, needles, pins. I team taught with someone else. There were only two in the class until a third showed up near the end of the presentation. We had them cut out 2-1/2" squares to make a Trip-around-the-World placemat. The Guild is collecting placemats for Meals on Wheels. We needed a small project to teach all of the techniques. In two weeks, we will teach quilting and binding techniques. It was a good day and the students learned a lot.
Maryz - I remember the episode you remembered on Big Bang Theory. Our speaker asked how the rovers were named. I got the answer correct. I said it aloud but was up in the balcony. I think she actually heard me and said I was correct.
Becca - You certainly are keeping busy!
Tina - You will enjoy seeing Kevin every day for a week. That is cool!
After teaching I came home and went on Zoom. I straightened the sewing room. After Zoom DH and I went to Costco and then had Bean Soup for Dinner. It was leftover from the other night. I had some Cranberry Walnut Bread (from Costco). It was delicious!
