The mornings are getting darker and darker! My brother got his first snow yesterday and sent me a picture of his yard, all covered in white. But he does live in Alaska not far from Fairbanks, so Oct snow is expected.
Our lunch yesterday was nice, though didn't go quite as planned. I got the primo parking spot along the street right in front of the restaurant door. I got everyone out of the car and we walked up to the door and found it locked! I checked their website twice and they said they served lunch! Even had a lunch menu. But all was not lost - The Antique Sandwich Co was across the street so we toddled over there and enjoyed delicious sandwiches and 2 hours of visiting. I pray everyone will still be able to go out when we return from Texas in Feb. Norie is so special to me because, except for my family and my BFF, Marlene, she is the only one who knew my first husband, Mike, my high school sweetheart. She was best friends with his mom and babysat Mike when he was little.
Today's plan is varied - chiro at 9, trimming Lemur and making binding, bind and label Book Nook, or we might go furniture shopping instead. That was our plan but now our friends want us to come over for pizza at 4pm. Since all the furniture stores are quite a drive and traffic can be unpredictable, not sure we want to go today when we have to be back home by 3:30 (the dog's suppertime.

TINA - I hope all the phone stuff got straightened out. I HATE handling that kind of business, but here, Bill usually handles all the "office" stuff. I'm fortunate in that. But he loves spending time at his computer so he just puts the phone on speaker and does his own thing during all those long waits. And I'm so appreciative that he does that! He's so patient with them. And I'm not! Are you back to sewing quilts now?
IRISH - I hope your winter isn't a rough one. All the predictions I've heard so far say it's going to be cold and wet here - meaning we might get a little bit of snow. But we won't be here so I guess it doesn't matter though I hate missing snow! I love it! But if I lived where you do - and my grandparents did! - I might feel differently. I know Grandpa Austin did and that's why they moved here in 1902. I hope you are able to make a trip to FL this winter. But don't tell You Know Who yet or she'll start meowing up a storm! I remember now - your sis did have knees done and is waiting on her hip. To lose that 10# (now 9!), drink more water and don't eat anything white for a few weeks and she just might do it! And wear her lightest clothes - shorts, tank, no undies or bra - when she gets weighed! And here I sit, with 30# to lose myself! Remind me again what cards you play. We love cards. Cribbage is our game, but we also like Canasta and Golf. We've played Hearts and Spades and are willing to learn others. Our friends play bridge but we're not going there! What all have you made so far for your craft table? For two years I made all sorts of things for Lara's craft boutiques. They were just going to offer me a permanent membership to their group when she decided to quit. So no more craft sewing for me.
BECCA - are you painting another of those little purses or something different this time? Your NC scene is very pretty, I'm sure. We've been all through your state years ago and it's lovely there. We have friends who now live in south Texas but who came from NC. I love their soft accent. I expect you have that same accent. I expect Bill will also be amazed at how improved his vision will be. My only concern is if he insists on having it done this winter while in Texas. On the tiny chance something could go amiss, I don't want to be 2500 miles from home with a truck, fifth-wheel, pets, and husband to try to get back home. Because he researches everything to death (probably a bad choice of phrase there.

LORI - so nice of you to take on the ornerous chore of dealing with the computer company for your dad and brother! You've earned rubies for that! And how are they both doing? And what is the name of your Halloween project? Did you tell us? If so, I probably already Googled it but I'd like to refresh it in my mind.
CAROL - when you finish your Nativity, we would love to see a photo! My DH just had his colonoscopy. All clear, but you're right - you have to think ahead, food-wise, with that in your near future.
I guess we're having pizza tonite. Since that's what we're invited for. Not sure what kind. As long as it doesn't have anchovies on it (who ever thought of that?!?!), we're good with any kind.
What's on your mind for supper tonite?
