SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Sept 26th

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Sep 26, 2023 6:03 am

Good morning,

The rain stopped - for now. We're sure making up for the lack of moisture the past 4 months. Not much wind though. For that I'm grateful. When you live amongst 150 foot tall trees, wind can be scary.

Yesterday was grocery shopping, pork roast cooking, and lemurs. I didn't quite get the lemurs finished. I'm hoping I can steal a bit of time today to get them done, but we'll see. I have a lot of house cleaning to do for my luncheon tomorrow. Being not quite 5 feet tall, sometimes I tend to not notice dust higher than the dining room table. lol! Especially if there are more fun things to do than dust! Last night we watched an old Fred Astaire movie, "Royal Wedding", with the famous scene where he danced on the walls and ceilings. What a dancer he was!!

Carol - you've really been busy! And so many different things! What kind of soup(s) did you make? I might do potato next time. I had a cheese soup once in a restaurant that was amazing! I even asked for the recipe. The chef said it was a restaurant secret, but the waiter winked at me and said the secret ingredient was porter beer! I've never tried it yet but one of these days . . . .

Becca - so sorry to hear Frankie has RSV. Glad she's seen the dr and is expected to be OK in a few days. I'm sure, though, you won't mind a little prayer said for her. We got our RSV shots a few weeks ago, though most folks our age had it when we were young and just didn't know it.

Our supper tonite is going to be leftover pork roast. I will probably reheat it and serve it with rice and gravy. Last night Bill requested baked potatoes and creamed corn with the roast. Not sure if he'll put in his two cents tonite or just wait to see what he's getting. You know, I've been in charge of supper since I was 18 yrs old. I'm not sure if I'd like it now if someone else told me what I was going to have every single night. Perhaps being the cook in the house isn't so bad after all!

And what do you say YOU are having tonite?

Good morning all 🌞
Mary, you'll be putting a label on lemur by the weekend I imagine. I'm looking forward to seeing it.
Carol, I'll be glad when we get cooler so I can fix soups, 90+° just doesn't make hot soup too appetizing to me.
I called a business here in town to come clean our couches, they'll be here this morning. My doggies drool and lick our couch arms for some reason and rub up against the fronts and sides all the time and our couches are dirty and I'm just not up to tackling that job. I keep our dogs as clean as possible but gosh do they make the couches dirty.... plus I have covers on the couches all the time to protect them, it's crazy to me.
Supper will be pizza night, it's been a month already..... time sure flew by.

Becca, so glad Frankie is doing better.
I say you have a snack party and invite a few friends over. Party hats may be a good addition 🥳
They cleaned the couches pretty good. One looks like new and the other still has a few places they just couldn't get clean and they tried several times, guess they are clean dirty spots now. I'm sure it's from Duncan drooling. But they smell great now and it was $110 for almost 3 hours work so I think that's way better than me trying to do them. After they dry I'll put my covers back on them. Duncan and Rosie have to stay down in the den till that happens. I'll go set in the recliner to keep them company 😃

Good Afternoon,
Hope everyone is doing well. I finally made the soup today. It is garden vegetable. We really like this recipe.

Maryz - I did Farmer’s Market and Costco today. Sounds like a great dinner and movie last night.

Becca - Sorry you aren’t getting family night this week.

Tina - Glad to hear the couches are cleaner and sweet smelling.

All is good here. I am working on the Nativity figures. I worked a couple of hours this morning.

Dinner will be soup.

Carol
